Fighting The Dungeon Master (3)
The fight rages on without one side taking much of the advantage; much to Ritter's chagrin. At first, he thought that with his advantage as a dungeon master, he would easily defeat these invaders and make his position in the organization more solid.
Alas, things doesn't end up as he expected. Instead, he was being pushed back by his opponents! Every time he wanted to summon powerful monsters, Kai would always disrupts him. This happened so many times that Ritter wanted to just call it quits!
Unfortunately, things were not that simple. It was already obvious to him and the others that Kai have some relationship to the mysterious group that had destroyed many of their bases and even eliminated two of the heads! As such, Ritter could no longer back down. Not to mention that even if he wanted to run away, his opponents won't allow it!
Left with very little option, Ritter decided to play his last card! Ordinary methods obviously doesn't work on this group. The only way he could change the situation to their favor and stop the stalemate is to use desperate measures. Looking at Kai and the others with raging eyes, Ritter finally made his decision...
While Ritter is making up his mind if he want to use his trump card, the battle between Kai's group and the members of Hydra becomes more brutal and heated. Talban, Ahnari, Simon, Isaac gave their all and manages to gave devastating blow to Hydra's group. Of course, they are not unscathed in the process but thanks to Kai's absurdly powerful healing spells, their injuries are quickly healed. This in turn makes the group more ferocious. Unfortunately, they are inside Ritter's labyrinth where Ritter could summon countless monsters with a wave of his hands. As such, they could not reach Ritter and the important members of Hydra; ending up in a situation where neither sides truly have the advantage. What's more, Ritter could also summon powerful monsters like bosses to fight for him. Fortunately, Kai is preventing this from happening by harrassing Ritter again and again.
But if the situation persist, their group might become the disadvantage one. After all, their are only six of them while Ritter have his subordinates and monsters to fight for him. If they could not break the stalemate, they would run out of stamina sooner or later. When that happen, then this labyrinth could become their grave...
While Talban and the others were worrying Kuhran is calmly watching the whole situation. He too, like the others is fighting the monsters but unlike the adventurers, he is not giving it his all. Instead, he is observing Kai's actions.
"The situation is not looking good for our group and yet he is still so calm as if he is waiting for something...." Kuhran's interest id piqued as he watches Kai harrassed Ritter nonstop. He knew that with Kai's power, Killing Ritter would be as easy as killing a chicken. And yet, Kai haven't done so yet. The only thing that Kuhran reason Kuhran could think of is that Kai' is patiently waiting for something or someone!
Kuhran is right on his assumptions. Kai is indeed waiting for someone. To be more sepcific, Kai is waiting for the remaining heads of Hydra to show themselves! Judging from the whole situation, Kai is 100% certain that the labyrinth is a trap laid especially for him! Kai believed that once Ritter and his group is pushed to the brink, the other heads of Hydra would have no choice but to act. Kai is very confident of this, this is the reason he is only harrassing Ritter. He knew that if he fails, Hydra would hide themselves again and finding would be more difficult that it already has! As such, he must not miss this chance...
Ritter was finally able to calm himself. Earlier he was almost pushed into using his ultimate trump card but at the last second he manages to stop himself. Though his last resort is fairly powerful, the price that he must face is also great. What's more, once he used it, he could not use it again. Still, Ritter is aware that he must do something quickly or the situation could only worsen. Unfortunately, Ritter could not think of anything else right now.
"What am I supposed to do?" Ritter giving it his all in thinking of an answer. But while he is thinking, something unexpected happened!
"What, what is that?" One of Ritter's subordinate noticed something and could not help but exclaimed loudly. Without exception, everyone looked at where this person is pointing. To their surprise, they saw the space being warped!
The most surprised in the sudden change of event is Kai. That's because he is very familiar of this scene. If fact, Kai had seen this strange phenomoena so many times already--it's the scene of a << Gate >> being open!
