Kai did not panic after being singled-out by Ritter. Instead he introduced himself in the most ordinary way.
"I am Andy," Kai started, "I am the person responsible for reporting the progress of the quest to the client. In another word, I am the middleman," He added.
Ritter frown after hearing Kai's response. He did not expect Kai's answer. He thought that Kai is the group's mysterious client.
"Are you telling the truth?" Ritter asked while giving Kai the most intimidating glare.
Kai simply answer 'yes' with a smile. He did not even flinch after being intimidated like that.
Seeing that his intimidation did not give the result he wanted, Ritter was a little upset. Still, Ritter did not show it on his face, instead he opened his mouth and asked another question.
"Who is your master, and why are you investigating my labyrinth?"
Still smiling, Kai looked at Ritter in the eyes, causing the person to flinch in fear. Ritter did not know why he felt intimidated by that stare but his instinct is telling him that the person in front of him is very dangerous.
"My apologies but that's a secret. My employer wishes to remain anonymous. But as for the reason why we are investigating you, my friends over there already explained."
Ritter and his entourage sneered after hearing Andy's reply. Does he really think that they are 3-years old? For them, Kai is related to the enemy that destroyed two of their main bases and eradicated several smaller bases.
"Stop messing around! Do you really think we will believe your excuse?!" One of Hydra's executive yelled in annoyance. Despite the executive's anger, Kai is still smiling. He knew that his excuse was weak but he doesn't care. He already found what he is seeking for and the rest is of no concern to him.
"You guys have done well. Your rewards are waiting in the guild." Kai slightly turn his head to his side and asked Talban and the others to return to the guild as their quest was completed the moment the members of Hydra appeared.
Talban and the rest was startled after hearing what Kai said. They thought that they would need to fight the dungeon master in order to completed the quest. Who knew that they only needed to find him?
"Are you sure? These guys looked strong, you know? Do you really not need out help to fight them?" Talban asked a little unwilling. Ahnari also felt that goodbye is a little too sudden. She stared at Kai, wanting to know what he is thinking.
"The content of the quest is to just investigate the labyrinth. Now that the dungeon master is here, there is no longer any need to continue with the investigation," Kai replied.
Simon let out a sigh and asked the others to acquiese after seeing Kai's determined gaze. He knew that Kai was hiding something but since he is the middleman between them and the client, they needed to follow his commands. Now that Kai wanted them to leave, Simon will not argue with him.
Though still unwilling, Talban, and Ahnari could only nod their heads. Seeing that Kai asked the three adventurers to leave, Isaac is left in confusion, and doesn't know wwhat to do. Isaac, unlike the three is a knight in the service of the King of Melarc. As such he cannot just leave Kai behind. Kai also notices, Isaac's indecision and asked Isaac to leave with the three. He did not ask Kuran to leave as Kuran is privvy to the whole situation.
"You guys want to leave? Sure! I don't mind but you need to live your lives behind!" After being ignored by Kai and the others, the executives went red in anger and declared that the group could only leave as corpses!
Ritter frown at the executive's behaviour. He is the leader of this operation yet these executive is trying to meddle with his authority! Yet despite this, Ritter did not scold the said executive but willsurely punish the guy after the operation.
"Since you guys are alrady here, you should all stay and accompany us a little longer!"
Bang!
The door that Kai and the others used to enter the room suddenly shut tight with a loud bang, literally sealing the adventurer's path of escape. The executives and the others then quickly surrounds Kai group, making the already tense atmosphere tenser!
With the enemy at the ready, the cornered adventurers did not panic as they too, readied their weapons!
