Part 9

Surely enough, the earthquake soon subsided and soon after the sky was clear of all flying objects.

The peace and quiet only meant one thing. Tom had drained up all of Cryosatane.

James, both afraid and excited at the same time, ran as fast as possible to build distance between himself and the group of desperate civilians. He ran toward what was once a forest, but had become a bunch of wooden logs lying on top of one another after Tom’s stunt.

James sat down on the floor and tried to gather his thoughts as much as possible. His heart was racing and he didn’t know what to expect. He had never seen his son like that before.

It didn’t take long for Tom to appear right in front of James. He landed with a pirouette and bowed to his father as if he was the judge at a dancing competition, then quickly put on his serious face again.

They locked eyes with one another and were silent for ten solid seconds.

“Stand up.” Tom said at last and lifted James off the ground like a sack of potatoes.

James didn’t try and argue, only placed his feet down on the floor and stood on his own.

They found themselves in silence again, their eyes still locked.

End of Chapter 12

Attention!

I am yet to fully decide whether the coming chapters will be freely available on Steem, or exclusive to the published novel.
In case I decide to discontinue publishing this series freely on the Steem platform, I would very much like to thank each and every one of you who has read thus far and has supported me in my writing.
I would like to point out names, but will keep that for a separate post, one where I announce the novel had been published.
@mariannewest is one such individual who is most definitely getting a free signed paperback copy once the story gets published.
I am highly likely to gift the e-versions of the book to some of the people who've stuck around over the months of writing of this novel, because it feels I have otherwise robbed you of the ending. This is by far not my intention.
Whatever the case, I will continue writing and editing this novel until finished.
Should I change my mind regarding the exclusivity, I will publish the rest of what I will have written at a later date.

Thank you for all your support, everyone. I couldn't have done it without you! <3
Don't be mad at me for this d*ck-move, please. <3

OMG! I am speechless...but just for a minute. First, I loved Tom's landing and could picture it perfectly. So funny. : )
And now I have to wait, on the edge of my seat to find out what happens next?!?! Whatever you decide to do, I will support your decision. You are such a talented writer and I have thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I say, "Don't give it away free! Publish this sucker!!! " I will be in line to buy it for sure! All I ask is that you let me know when it is available to be purchased. BIG HUGS!

Because I love your #freewrite novel so much, I have to toss you the Over 20 Club #HotPotato

Hey @svashta!
#HotPotato!

Untitled design (44).png

@freewritehouse started throwing a hot potato! Don't get caught with it or you'll have to clean up after the party (without any helpers!).

It all began this week with @iamjadeline throwing a hot potato to @happycrazycon who then threw it to @byn, who then threw it to @wonderwop, who then threw it to @tristancarax. And if you are still following what I am saying...@tristancaraz threw that hot potato to me! Since your Wild West novel is hotter then this potato, I thought that you would be the best one to handle it. LOL!

I am computer illiterate so I hope I don't mess this up.
Go read another freewrite and pass it on to that writer in the comments! Also, yes, I really read your freewrite. Here's the link to the contest announcement: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@freewritehouse/hot-potato-an-over-20-club-game

catches the hot potato and starts throwing it from one hand to the other in order not to get burnt. REALLY!? At work currently (well, lunch break), so I hope this doesn't cool down by the time I get home.

Yeah, something about that landing... just projects the change in character due to the power he now possesses.

Thank you so very much for supporting me throughout this entire time, and for supporting my decision, whatever it may be. <3 I will of course make sure EVERYBODY knows when it gets published :P

it is not a d*ck move at all. That is what we all are here for - to support each other to reach goals - be it to write and publish a book or to publish on Steemit.
You have shown amazing stick-to-ness to have gotten this far in the 5-minute chapters!!
Hats off to you!!!
and thank you for the book offer :)

True indeed, yet it does feel like I am robbing the most loyal of readers of their experience.
Thank you! And who knows? I might start another novel this same way. Or maybe I'll start something different altogether (I just got a splendid idea I'll let you in on ... soon. :P )

Not a problem at all! We will discuss the technicalities once it's ready to be published. ^^
Just noticed. Look at you hide behind the @freewritehouse username! I'm onto you, @mariannewest. I'm onto you!

hahaha - you smart!!! 😳
