“That also means he wasn’t sent by anyone. Like we were.” James continued. “Why would he kill Fishnick then?”
“Because he screwed his old maid and made it his?” Tom shrugged his shoulders. “I mean, the fuck do I care? They’re both dead. I’m more interested in Cryosatane. I mean, if Cryosatane didn’t work on Kirk because he wasn’t a descendent of our great grandfather, would it,” Tom paused a bit, “work on us?”
“I don’t know, Tom. I’m not really fond of the idea of chugging down a liquid that shines like the sun. I’ve seen shit in my life, but never anything that glows like this.” James was hesitant of giving Cryosatane a taste and tried changing the subject. “You think there’s anyone else like us under the dome right now? I mean, not in service of Ducköden, but maybe God or someone else?”
Tom shook his head. He didn’t see how it was relevant at all. “Listen, dad,” Tom made sure to emphasize the word dad, “even if there were fifty like us under the dome right now, it doesn’t matter. The dome doesn’t even fucking exist anymore! If we drink this Cryosatane and get Fishnick’s power, we can kill everyone under here as long as no other deity interferes and they can’t touch us. In this little land we can be Gods, James. Gods!”
It was obvious that Tom’s lust for power was taking over. “Maybe. But that’s only until they figure out the dome is gone. Then we’re ash.” James wanted to ground him again with some real talk.
“I’m sure we can create some sphere around this place that will be impenetrable to one or two magic spells and will make them think the dome still stands.”
“Considering you don’t die when you drink it.” James didn’t feel like arguing anymore and instead went for one of the cigarettes that was still in the pack that Kirk had preserved.
In the meantime, however, Tom sneaked over to the large Cryosatane reservoir with a pipe, twisted it open and placed his mouth underneath its stream, catching the viscous liquid into his mouth, swallowing as fast as his body allowed.
