Tom and James smiled at each other and happily accepted the freebie they were just given. James reached behind his back for the revolver and they waited for the footsteps to come closer. Right before the guard would see them, James got up and smashed the guard right on his forehead with the revolver's wood-covered grip, knocking him unconscious on the spot. He then held the body up so it wouldn't drop on the floor and make too great a sound while Tom took the pistol off him and went on to find a good hiding spot. He at last decided they could just tuck him in a dark corner of the room behind a couch, when James got an idea. He dropped the body on the floor just next to the wall so it couldn’t be seen from the hallway, and snapped the guard’s neck to avoid any difficulty with him later on.
“I’ll just leave him here right now. The other guard will come look for this guy soon.” James whispered and started unbuttoning the guard’s shirt. “We take him out, strip them both and change into their clothes. We can just leave the bodies here, when they notice three guards are missing it doesn’t matter much when they find the bodies.” Tom crouched down to help James with the guards clothing, but James near shooed him away. “I’ll do this one, you take care of the next one.”
