Part 12

They listened to the footsteps approaching the hallway and felt the adrenaline rush through their veins. Once the guard reached the hallway, he had to take a turn, and they both listened carefully whether the steps would sound ever more distant or ever closer. After just two steps there was no denying the guard was going in their direction.

They looked at each other and immediately knew they shared thoughts. There was nowhere they could go, nowhere they could hide. They were bound to be found sneaking around the premises and likely either executed on spot or captured and punished in some way.

The footsteps were ever closer, and the two paid very close attention to them – making sure there was not a second pair of shoes walking toward them. Because James was a bit closer to the guard than Tom was, he had to make a move at the exactly right time not to have the guard shout, or even pull out his gun. James waited until the guard was so close he was in fact in hand's reach, then jolted up and slammed the guard against the wall in a flash, covering his mouth so he wouldn't call for help.

your post is very extraordinary,
I really enjoyed it

Thanks! ^^ Happy to hear that!

I've begun playing fallout, and your story reminds me of that game ;)

Hmmm. Maybe... Maybe.... I should include more of that vibe then. It is indeed an awesome game that I've played a lot of too. :3

@svashta I played Wasteland on the Commodore 64 25 years ago. That's what Fallout is based on.

Hmmm. I think I'll just go play fallout again... don't have a commodore 64 :p

@svashta I downloaded a C64 emulator just so I could play that and Rags to Riches.

Hmmm. Maybe... I should do that as well... Or get a nintendo GameCube emulator and play Paper mario: The thousand year door... I loved that game :3

@svashta ooo. I think I played a demo at a best buy a thousand years ago of that game.

It's dabest game ever! :o You need to play it. such an awesome casual game. :3

Well, at least they are trained killers and know what to do. No hesitation there...
