Chapter 10
The guard near the first pot then opened a cannister of some liquid and poured all of it over the ore. He then lit a match and threw it inside the pot, lighting it on fire – the liquid was likely gasoline or something equally as combustible. The fire was about 6 feet tall at first, with its tongues touching the ceiling at times, but quicly died down to a very short – nearly invisible – blue flame. It kept burning on its own for a while more until the reaction within the ore finally took place and the melting pot started glowing an ever brighter shade of blue. The fire had died down completely, but the light was more intense with every passing second, illuminating the entirety of the room. It was the same blinding light that they saw coming from the other side of the building.
The light then started dying down as quickly as it came to be, until it finally faded away completely. The ore inside the pot wasn't glowing blue anymore, nor was it melted down at all. Weirder still was that Tom and James could see the iron first get covered in dew, then completely freeze over. It was as if they extracted its essence and had it convert into simple rock, no different than the waste material at the mine.
Then suddenly the bright blue light reappered, but from beyond the pot. The guard must've gone downstairs and drained the essence from the melting pot into a separate container. That must've also been what was illuminating the room on the other side.

I admire your usage of words. I need to improve my vocabulary :)
Thanks! Though I do believe I'm sub-par with many of the other authors, and actually deliberately so. I want the casual reader to understand everything without the need of a dictionary, and of course.
And by that I don't just mean the English speaking reader, but also the foreign language speaking readers with English as their 2nd, 3rd, ... ... language. English is actually my 2nd language also, so I know that I struggle with a lot of texts myself. I don't want that for the readers of my stories/book.
Very creative use of the prompt :)
Thank you very much!
I'll start a journey and let your keyboard lead in this one.
Here you have today's prompt.
Thanks! :D
