English Rain

2014-01-03 - Friday - 10:34 PM - Facebook Photo Album - Pictures of me and my students at that high school, English Rain, the Leaf Pagoda, and FYG. 12:46 PM ICT: I tell people I was in the Binh Thanh District. They say, "Oh yeah, the Ben Thanh Market in District 1. I was chatting with Erick Doan on Another side of Vietnam (ASOV). I say to them, you know, when you go on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and over a bridge, where does it take you? This happens with most of the districts. In the USA, different people tend to say things differently. For example, people in my state, Oregon, say "Ore-GUN" while others say "Ore-GONE." But in Vietnam, if you say something even slightly different, than others tend to be clueless to what you are saying and they seem to have no ability to guess. I am the kind of person, like Sherlock Holmes, that likes to guess if I can. If you say something wrong, I will still try to figure it out. The truth is out there says the X Files.

Leaf Pagoda

2014-01-05 - Sunday - 09:07 AM - Leaf Pagoda Students. Some of them were probably not my students. I taught on Saturdays and Sundays, generally, from October 2013 until February 2014, roughly. I volunteered until they paid me in December 2013. Well, I thought I was paid because some of them said I was paid while others said it was a one time thing as my bike was stolen that month. They invited me to eat and sleep there. So, I took them up on their offer. So, I was staying in that on that balcony near the stairs. I took photos of some of them as they left their classes. After that, I biked over to teach in District 1 with FYG or other places.

2014-01-09 - Thursday - 05:12 PM - Photos of me and my students. Also, ran into my August 2013 Tan Binh Roomie, I think. I drank some Mr. Brown Iced Coffee. Was learning Vietnamese. Somebody drew Chinese Joey. Wrote the word psychology on the whiteboard to explain which sounds the letter Y may make in certain words.

Lotteria Meetup

2014-01-10 - Friday - Met with my Tan Binh August 2013 Roomie and his female friend at Lotteria. I think she bought me a bunch of ice-cream cones, again and again, unless if I'm thinking of another time. I didn't look so good in some of my photos. Maybe, I was still recovering from my Jungle Fever which derailed me to five days in the hospital around August 2013. Also, I was tired, hungry, busy, sleepy, scared, confused, hurt, abused, struggling, in life, in many regards to many things. So, it was tougher but things continued to improve, long story short.

Doremon

2014-01-13 - Monday - Took a photo with two random men that invited me to drink some tea or maybe beer. I don't remember which. It was sometimes beer and sometimes tea when people would stop me as they wanted a chance to talk to a foreigner and it happened many times during my five years in Vietnam. It was fun. It was a bit strange in some ways as I was a stranger to them and yet like a best friend in some ways.

Saigoniz Cousine Kids

2014-01-14 - Tuesday - 09:21 AM - Saigoniz Cousine Cafe - two boys would practice English with me here. We would watch YouTube video, play Internet video games, and talk random topics. At least one of them would learn at an English Center like VUS. Other people learned English from me here at times.
