Benjamin Franklin (January 17, 1706 [O.S. January 6, 1705] – April 17, 1790) was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Franklin was a renowned polymath and a leading author, printer, political theorist, politician, freemason, postmaster, scientist, inventor, humorist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat. As a scientist, he was a major figure in the American Enlightenment and the history of physics for his discoveries and theories regarding electricity. As an inventor, he is known for the lightning rod, bifocals, and the Franklin stove, among other inventions. He facilitated many civic organizations, including Philadelphia's fire department and the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution.

Another great quote from Ben.

"Action may not always bring happiness,
but there is no happiness without action"

I gotta tell ya, as much as I really just want to sit around sometimes, I just can't.

I always seem to be doing something.

Even on my days off.

I take a lot of action and I can tell you that much of it does not bring me happiness lol.

However without the action I do put forth i don't feel I would get much happiness either.

It is essentially impossible to achieve anything if you do not take action toward it.

You can make 1000 moves toward a goal and have all of them be wrong and get you nowhere.

If only one of them is right then you can still achieve the goal and find the reward you are looking for.

However if we want something and take no action we've taken our chance of achievement to nearly 0.

We certainly do not have to take action toward anything.

That is, of course, our choice.

So if you want to be happy and are sitting around waiting for it to come to you...

Know that it won't.

The happiness fairy quit a long time ago.

I'm pretty sure she realized that it was far more rewarding to take action toward her own happiness than to give out happiness to those that are not putting in any effort to get it.

How good we feel after achieving something is directly reflected from the effort we have put in.

When things come to easily we will not appreciate them as much.

The more effort something takes the richer our reward will feel upon completion.

So if you know what you want be sure to take action toward it.

Remember,

"Action may not always bring happiness,
but there is no happiness without action"
