This guy has done a lot to motivate a lot of people.
Here is a great quote from him.

Passion is a powerful force.
Passion is the force that keeps you excited when you are trying to accomplish anything.
When we are passionate about something we will feel driven.
We see it all the time, the people that seem to be doing what they truly love are the ones that also seem to be the best at what they are doing.

Passion is that deciding factor.
But let's face it, if you don't think you can do something you are not likely to have a passion for it are you?
We have to believe that not only is it possible but also that we are capable of making it happen.
When we do see this, we can be passionate about it.
That's where seeing your potential comes in.
When we see our own potential in an area it sparks something inside us.

We start to get excited at our own possibilities.
We begin to believe strongly in ourselves.
We become passionate.
You see, when we see our own potential, it makes us want to reach that potential.
That want or desire is where we gain the passion I speak of.
So if you are not passionate about what you are doing, maybe you have not seen your potential yet.
Or, maybe your real potential is in something else.
Whatever the case, when you do see it, you are likely to become very passionate about it.
After that it's up to you what to do with that passion.
Remember,

My passion seems fleeting, I get really excited about ideas but I find the follow thru the difficult step for me. I feel the drive, I feel the excitement, I feel the passion, I have an awesome idea, I talk it up and sell people on it but I never want to put it all together. Maybe its not true passion that I am feeling? Maybe I don't see my full potential? OR perhaps I should work with my skill set and be the ideas person, the one who gets it all started and hands it off to be put together.
I was taught something that relates to this once...

Following through on a decision long after the excitement of the moment has past.
The beginning of most things is exciting. If we are passionate about it and hold character we will continue even once that excitement fades for a moment. If we are very passionate we will continue to be excited.
Sometimes it is as simple as picking only one thing to be passionate about. (harder than it sounds)

Yes fuels the fire is a great way of putting it
If you are not passionate about something, better don't try doing it, the result will be just catastrophic!
I have met many people joining the kitchen team in the past, they all wanted to be chefs...but they did not have the passion for the work. Most of them left after couple of days. Only those with passion stay and become successful.
I've seen this also. It really is best to only do what you are passionate about. :)
