George Herman "Babe" Ruth Jr. (February 6, 1895 – August 16, 1948) was an American professional baseball player whose career in Major League Baseball (MLB) spanned 22 seasons, from 1914 through 1935. Nicknamed "The Bambino" and "The Sultan of Swat", he began his MLB career as a stellar left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, but achieved his greatest fame as a slugging outfielder for the New York Yankees. Ruth established many MLB batting (and some pitching) records, including career home runs (714), runs batted in (RBIs) (2,213), bases on balls (2,062), slugging percentage (.6897), and on-base plus slugging (OPS) (1.164); the latter two still stand today. Ruth is regarded as one of the greatest sports heroes in American culture and is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player of all time. In 1936, Ruth was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its "first five" inaugural members.

The Babe!

This is a pretty good one:

"Don't let the fear of striking out hold you back."

Ok, this is going to be short cause I really don't want to beat a dead horse.

I love this quote and hopefully some of you can gain something from this.

If you fear failure you are basically killing your success.

Within every success is a cycle of fail, succeed, fail, succeed.

It is important to realize that you will strike out sometimes.

You will not get everything right on the first try.

In fact, one of the most important parts of success is failure.

Without it we would not learn as much throughout the process.

We have talked about failure a few times so I won't got to deep into it here.

I will say that as long as you are determined to succeed, failure is only a step in your path.

Each time you strike out you will learn from it what to do better the next time.

We hear it all the time, "The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.".

It's really true too.

If you fear striking out then it is your own fear that is actually hurting you.

It's not striking out because that is only in your imagination, it hasn't even happened.

Fear is a killer of dreams.

Fear can destroy worlds and shake foundations.

If you allow fear to influence your actions, you will always be afraid.

So be sure to check your fears at the door.

There are healthy fears to have but if they are in the way of your dreams they have no place.

Remember what The Babe had to say:

"Don't let the fear of striking out hold you back."
