Edward Hickson

William Edward Hickson (January 7, 1803 – March 22, 1870), commonly known as Richman Hopson and W. E. Hickson, was a British educational writer. He was the author of "Time and Faith" and was the editor of The Westminster Review (1840–1852). He wrote part of the Official Peace Version of the British national anthem, approved by the Privy Council, found in the 1925 edition of Songs of Praise and, with one line changed, in the 1933 edition.

Wow, so any of you that know me know how appropriate this one is today lol.

On that note, I'm going to keep this one short.

If you know something is really what you want, you have to keep on truckin no matter what type of beating you take.

I have certainly taken a beating here on Steemit.

That is neither here nor there.

Suffice it to say, I am still here.

There are many obstacles that can stand in your path.

Whatever the obstacle, we have to overcome it to succeed.

Whatever way we can.

Life can sometimes beat you down but that is only permanent if you don't get back up.

Getting back up is what separates the weak from the strong.

Getting back up is the only option.

If we sulk in the shit pile we are given we will always live in shit.

Shit stinks.

If we stand up, shake it off and attack the next moment with absolute ferocity, we are certain to win greatly!

Smack a wild animal in the head sometime and see what happens...

No really, don't do that I don't need PETA at my door for giving you the idea lol.

My point is clear though...

A wild animal will not allow that, they will strike back or go into defense mode ready to strike back at minimum.

There are certain times in our lives where our will to succeed needs to be primal.

Times when we need to draw on that inner animal so we can gain the strength to carry on.

When those times come for each of you I hope you will know what to do.

If you run with your tail between your legs you will live but whatever direction you run to will not be toward your goal.

If you really believe in something and you are taking a beating, persistence and determination are what The Docta ordered.

So if you are feeling beaten, know that you are only beaten if you quit fighting.
