Aristotle (384–322 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher and scientist born in the city of Stagira, Chalkidice, on the northern periphery of Classical Greece. His father, Nicomachus, died when Aristotle was a child, whereafter Proxenus of Atarneus became his guardian. At seventeen or eighteen years of age, he joined Plato's Academy in Athens and remained there until the age of thirty-seven (c. 347 BC). His writings cover many subjects – including physics, biology, zoology, metaphysics, logic, ethics, aesthetics, poetry, theater, music, rhetoric, linguistics, politics and government – and constitute the first comprehensive system of Western philosophy. Shortly after Plato died, Aristotle left Athens and, at the request of Philip II of Macedon, tutored Alexander the Great beginning in 343 BC.

Most of us have heard of this guy.

Another great quote for today.

"We become what we repeatedly do."

Boy, guess that means I'm becoming a Steemian lol.

How true this is though, huh?

Whatever we are doing the most, we are becoming the most.

Whatever that is.

If we are watching T.V. the most we are becoming a couch potato.

If we are struggling the most, we are becoming that struggle.

If we are building the most, we are becoming a builder.

If we are creating the most, we are becoming a creator.

So what are you doing the most?

Thinking Think about it pondering.jpg

Have you thought about it yet?

Does what you are doing the most relate to what you want the most?

If not, then these two forces are not in line.

I think this concept is pretty easy to grasp.

Some will say, "Practice makes perfect." or, "Practice makes greatness.".

So, how do we use this knowledge to get what we want?

Simple.

Do what you want to be.

If you want to be a sculptor, do it.

If you want to be an architect, do it.

If you want to be a painter, do it.

If you want to be a couch potato, do it.

Don't just do it, do it repeatedly.

Have a plan for when you will do it and stick to it.

The more you do it, the quicker you will become it.

The less, the slower.

So if you really really want something, you should be doing it all the time.

You should be eating, sleeping and breathing it.

It should be a healthy obsession.

Become obsessed?

Yes, become obsessed!

If you really have a passion for it you will not be able to burn yourself out on it.

At least not if you are seeing consistent growth from it.

The more you do something, the more things related to that thing will be attracted to you.

The more of those things you run into the more inspiration and motivation you will gain to keep going.

It's a wonderfully viscous cycle.

Have you been wanting something and haven't seen signs that it's on its way yet?

Well, have you been taking action toward it?

Are you thinking about it all the time?

Are you constantly focused on your next step toward it?

Do you want it so bad you can taste it?

No?

Sorry it remains on the shelf, you know, the one in the back of your mind collecting dust.

Yes?

Great!

Be patient and keep doing it!

Your reward, your achievement and your success is on it's way!!

So whatever it is that you really want, get a healthy obsession for it!

Eat it!

Sleep it!

Breath it!

Become it!

Remember,

"We become what we repeatedly do."

Great post as always, and so true. They use to say you become what you eat so I guess that is true even in life.
What we do the most is what we become. I guess I'm becoming a coffee alliance 😂😂lol
But if we follow our passion and do the things we love then that is what we become and that's what will make us happy 😊
Cheers

wow your post is really very nice.

AMAZING! I love this post, please do more about the classical Greeks. I'm American but I love the Hellenic people and their ancient philosophy. I studied mathematics in college, and as you may know, the Greeks laid the foundation for math and logic.
I really enjoyed this, please post more. I'm going to delve more into Greek mythology and what we can learn from their stories.

Thanks!

I have built a huge list of motivational quotes over the years that have personally helped me. It's that list that I draw from. I will see if there are more from the ancient Greeks.

Superb created facts. When i thanks with that. Certainly will probably be very helpful regarding our upcoming projects. Want to notice some other posts for a passing fancy subject matter!

Thanks! I really appreciate it!

We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us.

yes, we cannot focus on the "how", only on the goal itself :)
