Daily-Inspirational-Motivational Quotes Inspiring-Encouraging Quotes #36.jpg

Ayn Rand (born Alisa Zinov'yevna Rosenbaum, Russian: Али́са Зино́вьевна Розенба́ум; February 2 [O.S. January 20] 1905 – March 6, 1982) was a Russian-American novelist, philosopher, playwright, and screenwriter. She is known for her two best-selling novels, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, and for developing a philosophical system she called Objectivism. Educated in Russia, she moved to the United States in 1926. She had a play produced on Broadway in 1935–1936. After two early novels that were initially unsuccessful in America, she achieved fame with her 1943 novel, The Fountainhead.

Ok, straight down to business.

I just love what she had to say here:

"The question isn't who's going to let me;
it's who's going to stop me."

Coming from a woman in the thirties, this must have been a very bold statement.

I've heard other people say, "It's easier to get forgiveness than permission.".

The truth is, if you want to get something done, you just gotta go do it.

You can't wait around for other people to tell you it's ok.

So many of the worlds greatest accomplishments either bordered on insanity or were seemingly immoral before completion.

Then once they were finished, they were regarded as brilliant.

How many marijuana farms had to sprout up completely illegally before local governments started to realize the medicinal benefits?

How many of these farmers gave their lives, freedom and even family to bring that medicine to those who needed it whether the law allowed it or not?

How many of them might you have known personally and simply regarded as a drug dealer before realizing the truth?

Pioneering into uncharted waters can be reckless, dangerous and even downright illegal.

The people that chart those waters are seen as crazy by most.

However, the ones that have actually found something often end up showing the world things we would've never had the chance to know about without their courage and sacrifice.

Could you do it?

Could you put the world's suffering before your own and be willing to give up that much so that someone else wouldn't have to?

Well, if you do have something that you just know the world could benefit from but you are afraid of things like:

Peoples opinions
Your freedom
Laws
etc...

Then you have a decision to make don't you?

Not everyone is cut out for what it takes to chart these waters.

You may or may not be yourself.

What I will say is this.

If you are too afraid to do it yourself, then at minimum, don't hold it in.

Share it with someone.

Heck, share it with everyone!

Sooner or later, if it's really something that will benefit humanity, someone will hear it and say something like...

"The question isn't who's going to let me;
it's who's going to stop me."

Then you, whether by being involved or simply passing it along, will have contributed to changing the world for the better.
