02:48 PM - Field Mouse Found - I shared this discovery on Shelton Talks - Does anybody want a baby mouse I randomly found? Kathy told me to put it outside. Brent said they carry diseases. I used to have 30 pet mice and other rodents for many years as a kid. I love mice. Tiffany wrote: "Pet mice are raised to be pets, in clean environments free of disease. Nothing deserves to die alone but it can spread disease to pets and to you. Alicia: "It may possibly just have been too young and not had enough to eat and drink on its own. I would suggest a small bowl of warm water and a couple small drops of dawn dish soap to clean it up and kill any fleas it may have, and then use an eye dropper/medical dropper, and feed it kitten replacement milk, Esbilac, or Enfamil baby formula 6 to 8 times a day or as little or much as it will take, to see if it will start getting healthier and can be let outside. They can be slow and barely reactive and will allow contact if malnourished, scared, etc. Worth a try <3 Also you may call a local vet or pet shop and ask questions." Me: "don't worry i will but i will just making up an excuse to post something in this group.... jumped on this opportunity lol like a mouse on cheese haha." Liz: "These guys are carriers of hantavirus." Scary. I want to nurse it up and then let it loose later when it looks like the mouse recovered. It might be sick.
