A great big thanks to @xeldal who delegated over 20,000 Steem Power to my account in support of Steemit Open Mic. Great news for people entering the contest because now an upvote rewards you more.

When asked why they delegated Steem to my account the response was:

I've got it just sitting here and I'm thinking it does more good for everyone if I delegate it to people who bring life to the network. Plus, it makes me happy.

We all thank you for that.

A big shout out to @pfunk for sponsoring Steemit Open Mic and getting the word out with his post titled, Hey Did You Know There's A Weekly Steem Open Mic Contest --- by @pfunk

I just want to remind everyone that votes are only part of the selection process. Entertainment value and performance is factored in too.

ALSO PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAY "STEEMIT OPEN MIC WEEK 59" AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR VIDEO ON NEXT WEEKS ENTRIES If you don't say that you will not qualify for rewards (other than what your post makes) for this contest. Very important. Some of you would have won the last few weeks if you would just remember to say those words at the beginning of your video.

Also, remember to start your post title with the words "Steemit Open Mic Week 59" so we can find your post easily in the feed.

If you are playing an original song please add the word "Original" in your title somewhere so we can find you and award you a bonus.

The coolest thing about Open Mic is it brings the Steemit community together and that is the whole point of this project.

Special thanks to @jessamynorchard, @soundlegion, @krystle, @verbal-d, and @passion-ground for help judging the contest this week. Great job guys.

Steemit Open Mic is not about winning or losing, it's about building a connection on Steemit through music. Watching the collaboration happen online between musicians who played and met on Steemit Open Mic is very rewarding and many of the people who play and post earn some nice rewards for playing a song.

For many, it's easier to get some Steem in your tip jar by playing for Steemit Open Mic than it is to play music on the street.

Steemit Open Mic Week 58 Original Composition Mogati Calor Warmth --- by @matisotoaguilar

@matisotoaguilar’s ”Mogati - Calor - Warmth” Original Song
You two presented a wonderfully powerful duo. Your musical chemistry was super on point and the energies intertwined seamlessly with how well you both performed together in sync rhythmically. I was captivated from the beginning all the way to the end and I was vibing to the cultural essence that permeated through the music. By the way I loved how serious @gokulramdas was in the beginning and then lightened up and became more immersed in the song as you both progressed forward. Thank you for your amazing entry. Look forward to hearing more from you both.
- @verbal-d

This duet simply warmed my soul to every end. The percussive elements herein, in concert with brilliant guitar work - combined with such beautiful vocal melodies made this entry an absolute stand-out. Of course, the "passion" that both of these wonderful artists display also had a lot to do with my selecting them as my top pick of the week. - @passion-ground

The mesmerizing performance is rich with interesting rhythms, colorful harmonies and delivered with dynamic precision. It felt like I was on a musical journey exploring new territory.

The percussion was very interesting as it wove though the triplets on guitar while the vocal melody and harmonies washed over it in waves.

You guys played together very well and you carried the song from start to finish. - @luzcypher

2nd Place

Steemit Open Mic Week 58 Original Song Dicen --- by @pechichemena

This original song was straight from the depths of your heart. Your soft approach to how you presented this gem worked well with the welcoming smooth vibes you cascaded the audience with. This is such an easy going flowing song that connects with many emotions. The chord changes along with your harmonic vocals really made this a pure joy to listen to and I repeated this several times. Definitely one for the playlist. Thank you for your memorable entry. - @verbal-d

This song is so romantic and played with a delicate touch but it pulls you in and won't let you go. The vocal fits the music and the mellow mood is carried well by the performance.

The vocal melody had some introspective intervals that are very interesting and the chord changes have a jazz feel to them. Very well done. - @luzcypher

What can I say @pechichemena... this is absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time, you made me sad bro - and this is not meant as a criticism, rather an acknowledgement of the skill you have as a musician and songwriter.

The sorrow and sadness swept over me listening to this and reading your post, this is a heartfelt song no matter the language it's sung - as I have said before sometimes music can overcome language barriers effortlessly.

You have an amazing voice, smooth and soulful, this coupled with your amazing guitar skills you create the full experience - there's sorrow but also I'm not sure an almost acceptance to the tone, perhaps a subtle hint that death is what makes life and living so much more meaningful. -- @krystle

This is one of those entries, whereby after reading the artists post - explaining the nature of the songs origin - it simply added volumes of appreciation to just how much I felt connected to it, and the meaning behind it. However, one need not know of the origins in order to appreciate the sheer beauty, emotion, and talent that resides forever within this most beautiful entry. -- @passion-ground

3rd Place

Steemit Open Mic Week 58 Sweet Gina Original Song --- by @tarotbyfergus

This one just got me... The Neil Young/Tom Petty-like feel of this original just took me over the edge! There is no doubt as well, that Sir Tarot felt quite strongly about this particular gem. His passion rose straight to the top - and never looked back. The raw purity of the lyrics alongside the driving persistent rhythm's make this entry a keeper for the ages!. - @passion-ground

Something about the lyrics and the story and the way he sang this song really made me feel the passion behind it. The performance is all heart. - @luzcypher

@meno plays and writes beautiful songs but what really surprises me is his voice. It really is creamy and delicious and his melodies are spot on. The dynamics are well played as well as you can hear in this song as it builds up and he really delivers the passion in the crescendo. So happy you're part of Open Mic as you're a gem. - @luzcypher

It's a beautiful thing to witness you grow so much in this competition. You truly put everything on the line and you gave it your all. Your singing and playing were full of energy and realness. When you put so much passion into your performances, your conviction fused with your musical skills easily separates you from your competition. You shared all your emotions and created a strong original song that speaks to many of us who have had a broken heart before. All this came from a bottle of rum and 3 days of sleep deprivation? What a way to turn it all around into something creatively enjoyable, thanks for this entry. Look forward to your next one. -- @verbal-d

Great initiative for musicians on Steemit. One question please. Does an entry have to be with vocals or can a bass instrumental participate too? Thanks.

It can be an instrumental only. Just playing the bass is OK.

Cool. Thanks a lot. Will try participating in the coming weeks.

Thank you so much for all the beautiful words... we love doing this :) we have plans of injecting a ton of musicians into the crypto space through this competition and The Mogati Labs (Boston, USA). We hope that all the support we've received from this community will be an incentive for our friends from school to participate (Berklee College Music). Honestly (and sadly), talking about blockchain tech and its possibilities has not created enough impact for most as it has for us. We really want to contribute with the acceleration of blockchain understanding/adoption, especially among our peers. Thanks again for the love and support.
-Mogati.

Congratulations! This performance was beautiful and hope to hear more from you soon.

Congratulations! That was a really beautiful performance.

Musicians don't need to hear all the crypto mumbo jumbo to get them onboard. Just show them the open mic trending page and they will want to enter. Keep it really simple and show them how people are earning money from playing music. Most musicians get that.

This made my week!
Thank you for providing the platform for us to sing and share:D

Great performance on this song.

Congratulations! We love your music and thanks for being part of Steemit Open Mic.

Thank you for the honorable mention!

This made my day :D ! thank you so much to all the amazing Open Mic Team for having this place for us ! So happy to share my music with all of you ! I am glad to be part of this and I hope for the music community to keep growing . Cheers !

You really have a magical quality to your performances and your songs are beautiful. Thanks for being part of Open Mic.

I can't sing or play any music but I love listening and dancing. Big respect to all artists. Congratulation to all. @dorotea
