STEEMIT OPEN MIC 58 / Original improvisation with antique banjo + Casio VL-tone

Ok so I didn't know exactly what to do for this weeks Open mic.
So I just randomly chose 2 instruments in a special Vache Morte lottery draft. The result was my antique Banjo with the Casio Vl-Tone (mini keyboard from the 80's). This is a special duo and I used the loop pedal to be able to play both live.

Sort:

Ahhh my friend, when you pulled out the little keyboard I laughed so hard, you are always so full of surprises :) It sounded great, totally dark and twisted and VacheMorte all the way! Awesome production as usual.

Thank you so much Lyndsay glad you enjoyed. This little keyboard is really special to me.
Check how fucking cute this thing is:

IT is the GREATEST EVER!!! I swear I remember those!! :)

I have one of those. My daughter uses it everyday for her practice. He also uses it at gigs to find notes for a cappella tunes. (see below)

perfect family. She should cherish it. I program custom sound on mine every jam.

also Devo, B-52 and many more used it. My favorite artist that composed for it: "Dark Days" check it out.

Can't find Dark Days. Link?

i am a really big fan of your work my friend, your musical sound is awesome art , such mood, tone feel, very unqiue artsy thing to your sound builds. i def am taken up with your material you been sharing. im down for a collab at somepoint you just hit me, im hard to catch sometimes, but i think we could make a great track... i want to put a vocal over somthing like this.

Hey Bonnie! Glad you like my music. I am still really busy at the moment at my studio but I like the idea so let's stay in touch.

Beautiful my friend, I like the vibe !!!! :)

Thank you YU! Check out my fashion shoot I will be posting tonight if you have time.

@vachemorte you are a texture King. Building the layers to a thick unique fabric. A thick wall tapestry hanging on the stone salon walls of a long-deserted castle. What has this tapestry heard in its decades of hanging? Stories? Dance? Love lost? Happiness? Listen to the sounds between the threads and you will begin to hear muted sounds of @vachemorte.

....Ten listens .. beginning to hear whispers echoing off the stone.

don't listen 10 times this is against your doctor prescriptions. Could make you crazy. The bright side is I wouldn't feel so lonely up here... love ya brother.

Maybe one day we can do a duet with the casio vlt that would be something...
This is the album you requested.

Just listened to the full album. Good stuff. I am in if you want do some something with the synths. I have a couple of other toy synths we could play with :) I am planning to do some experimenting of the weekend, including the last project you sent me. Sorry for the delay - I'm up to me neck!

Are you sure you're not related to Celine?

I have to return the new music gift. Here is a 1988 album from Canadian John Oswald. As you listen consider the year this tech masterpiece was made....

Very cool sounds.

thanks. always glad to participate.

real eeiree sounds on this!!! Love it alot!!! ... do you think an 'instrument lottery' could develop into a regular thing??? I like that idea!!!

thanks bro. I do use random pick often. I did a few times in openmic (47, 48, 51 and 57. 57 was last week. I got "use feedbacks as an instrument") and also on your jam maybe once. I think I want to entertain myself first, then I hope someone will like what I do, as a bonus.

You are an all round music powerhouse!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice sound of both instruments. I liked your performance. 👏👍

thanks bro. My mandolin not out for retirement yet even if it's 120 years old, stay tune for it in the upcoming weeks.

Nice Vache! This is a whole 'nother type of "Deliverance!" Ha! Cool, brother!

Yo PG. I never really cared for that song and because I play banjo everybody brings it up... To shut them all up once and for all I might play it (my style I will give you a clue: I will add a lot of distortion). Joke aside this old banjo I have, it's always fun to jam on it.

Ha! I hear you, man... Sorry to have nudged upon that standing thorn in your side... :-) Might as well put it to rest the best way you know how! Ha-ha...

Now you made me wanna go buy a looper!! this looks like too much fun, if you don't mind me asking what looper are you using?

Yo Meno. There is plenty of types of loopers. For this track I used the boss (I really like Boss as a company, I have my delay for 30 years and still going strong). They are rugged. You have the choice between rc-2 rc-3 or rc-30. Sometime I do loops without an effect pedal using software and loop my recording in my computer.

I back the Boss decision, have two loopers rc1 and rc30. Love the tiny rc1 cause it's just so simple!

thanks @vachemorte I agree boss pedals are tanks... maybe ill try to find myself a used up RC2 or something... got my bday not to far away...

:)
