Part 19

When they finished playing their musical piece, they both took a deep relaxed breath and just observed the nature around them in silence. The slow ride turned into the equivalent of a meditation, with their minds completely blank of anything but peace.

However, as always, at some point certain thoughts arise that can no longer stay quiet. In Tom's case, he noticed a group of wasps flying over a cactus not far from them and sunk into his own thoughts. “Who are the other two?” He thought out loud.

“What do you mean the other two?” Without proper context, James couldn’t have known what Tom was speaking about.

“Right, sorry. It made sense in my mind. You said there’s 5 of these deities out there. So far you’ve told me about Ducköden, God and Fishnick. That’s three. Who are the other two?”

“Waspira and Taranta, which, as pretty obvious from their names, are God’s kids with a wasp and a tarantula.” James was still in a very calm state of mind – almost a delirium – and put very little emotion into his words. He was merely stating facts.

“That’s strange. I was expecting a tiger or a lion or something like that,” James was taken aback by James’ words. “Then again, I’d never have thought a duck could be amongst the last five alive.” Tom smiled and lit himself a cigarette, then threw the pack to James.

Hmm, a spider and a wasp offspring. I've heard of spider fly's not spider wasps. :-) Hope they don't get stung... Yells to Tom and James "stay away from the cactus!"

I'm not sure which is worse. A supposed hybrid between a spider and a wasp, or two separate giant animals, ~3x the size of a human. Maybe a flying stinging spider takes the cake, but not by much. :3

They shouuuld, yeah! :D If I may speak on their behalf, they thank you for the warning. :P

It would take more than a can of raid and a lighter to kill them, lol. I hate spiders, so if they ever flew I would never leave my home. There would be a garden planted inside and would live like a caveman, err cavewoman.

I... I... don't want flying spiders either! Nor do I want them effin' HUGE! or HUGE wasps. Eeeek!
I'd join you with the caveman approach! :P

Lol, ahhh a much needed chuckle has escaped. :-)

Congratulations, your post has been promoted on behalf of the @echowhale team .

Additionally you have earned an upvote !

Heeeeeey! This is a really nice surprise!
You've dropped out of my head for a while there, glad to see you reappear! :D Need to catch up on your services, I believe :p

Yes you do, we didn’t forget you :)

Dialogue is definitely one of your strengths!

Thank you!!!
This means the world to me, as if you check out some of my first stories, there's little to no dialogue used at all, and I generally steer away from it if at all possible because I feel it is my weak point.
I'm very happy to hear it's not actually as bad as it appears in my head. :3
Thank you for making me feel all fuzzy inside with your comment! <3

I think it was well-placed and well-written!

I have a guide book that has some good dialogue advice -- i'll dig it out and share the paragraph with you when I have a chance.

Thank you! I'm actually inclined to write a lot more dialog since, well, there isn't much else than dialogue to happen on the road :p

That would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance! :D

more deities... It will get complicated

Felt like I needed to make some more complications to the story so I can have more stuff going on later.. :3

Wow, that's an interesting take on 'wasps'. Good story! The whole thing sounds really interesting :)

Thanks! Very happy you find it interesting! :D If you're interested in more, why not give Chapter 1 a read and see if you like it :D

Waspira and Taranta. Very creative and amusing names. Off topic: Taranta in our dialect mean confused.

Thanks :P
Hmmm, where are you from? :D
You have me thinkin', maybe I'll make Taranta really confused all the time.. Something along the lines of very powerful, but not very bright. Or at least with severe difficulty of focusing, and just overall confused by everything. Not a bad idea actually :P

I'm from the Philippines. Taranta is a Tagalog word for confused.

Yeah, why not? He would be one interestingly hilarious character in the story.

I think it's a good idea too! Noted!
Like the most stereotypical buff dude.

Oh and, looking at your profile.... Highfive! I love coffee too! And rainbows. And wish to fly. You're well on your way to becoming my best friend! >;P

Alrighty! Howdy partner, now do I feel honored! High five!

Team Slovenia? Are you a Slovenian writing Westerns??? 😯

Indeed so! How am I doing? ;P

Yes, you're doing great! You write English better than most people who only speak English. This is really interesting to me because I went to your country when I was a child. Back then it was called Yugoslavia. But you know all about that.

You know my country and its history? You deserve a medal... Hell!... Several medals! :D
Thank you very much for the compliment though. Much appreciated!
