I just watched the movie Mission: Impossible starred by Tom Cruise. He still looks very fit for action and suspense-packed movies. I did like the movie so much that when I arrived in the house, I then rushed to get my pencils and sketchbook to draw the lead star.

I do not like to spoil those who have not watched the movie yet. But I tell you that it’s worth watching. Well, I do not know of a movie of Tom Cruise that is not worth watching. So, what are you waiting for grab your tickets now! But wait! See this drawing first please.

We know very well that Tom Cruise has aged but his a very good looking guy and he perfectly defies age. In the movie, for me, he still looks like on his late thirties. I intentionally asked google of his age and it said that he is 56 years old already. What could be his secret?

Anyways, let’s now go to the process before you get bored with my blaberring. I hope you like it.

Drawing Process

I have done two watercolor practices already and now I want to do a graphite art once more. This is my first favorite medium. I am using my 8B Staedler which is very little now. I wanted to buy another but there is no available piece in National Book Store where I usually buy my art materials.

Step 1: I sketched the outline using a 3H pencil.

Step 2: I started with one eye on the left and a part of the nose and some pertinent lines on the face.

Step 3: I continued going down and had the cheeks and dimple lines properly placed. I also initially outlined the index fingers.

Step 4: I went up to do the hair. I made sure I would not blacken everything such as where the highlights are located.

Step 5: I continued with the other half of the hair. Same thing, I avoided the parts where the highlights should be placed

Step 6: I worked on the other eyebrows and eye. Do you see a resemblance with Tom Cruise? I hope you do!

Step 7: I skip the mouth and lips because they are so difficult to draw. So, I just moved to the suit or jacket.

Step 8: Then I worked fully on the hand and the suit. And of course, I did not forget to do the mouth. I have no way to go.

Step 9: I added shade for the background and poof... Finished!
