Merry Christmas, creative steemians!

Today, since it's the birthday of Jesus who is a gift to all of us and who has brought great joy to all the people, I also draw a very special gift in our family that has also caused us great happiness in our hearts- Zac Arkin.

Children are gifts to their families from God. He purposely given the parents a child /children so that they may be able to live their vocations as parents.

However, many children today suffer from violence, hunger and injustices. Some children at a very young age are trained to kill or steal. Some also are not provided with proper nutrition because of hunger. Some are victims of bullying, prostitution, and child trafficking.

It's CHRISTMAS! May the commemoration of birth of the child Jesus awaken the hearts of everyone of us so that in our own little ways we will save and respect the rights of the children.

Let us make this world dedicated for them. Turn violence to education, hunger to growth and development, and injustices to play and freedom.

We cannot be a child again. Let us give them what is due to them. Happy Christmas to one and all!

Now, I will be showing you the process and materials used to produce this portrait of a beautiful angel.

1. I sketched the outline of the face of the subject on a 8.5x13 Vellum Board. Then used Staedler 7B to initially shade the hair.
   

1. Then I started working on the face of the subject.
   

2. I also worked on the other side of the face. I used cotton buds as spreader.
   

3. Then, I worked on the shirt of the subject. This time it needs a darker pencil, so I used Staedler 8B.
   

4. I added more details such as shades, and shadows on the face to appear more realistic.
   

5. Now take a close up and final look of the portrait.
