Art 109: Nude Watercolor Painting Study

in #art6 years ago

Hi, it’s me again, @christianyocte!

Before I go to sleep tonight, I want to share a nude painting done with watercolor. When I do nude drawing or painting, I usually use ink as a medium and do pointilism because I want it to appear artistically. What I mean is I dont want my art to appear as an erotic art just like this watercolor art I have. So, I hope you enjoy this study.

After sketching using an ordinary pencil, I inked the outlines using a calligraphy pen 1.0. I just want to get the posture and form of my subject. I dont want to be very strict with details this time so that it would be so far from reality. And by that, I could have a fancy art, right?

I used a water brush because it is very convenient to me. I selected a color (peach) to do the base coat of the skin. Later I will add brown to add value on the skin.

So, as I said, I will add another color to add value on the skin. Instead of a brown, I changed it with a red so that it would be a little dramatic. Well, that’s how I see it.

I chose blue and violet for the chair she is sitting on because I want this artwork to be very colorful and bright. I love it so much!

Then, I used yellow as base color of the hair and tgen added orange to highligt. I also added a black background without a specific reason. But, I still love it anyway.

It’s time to keep all things in place after using. They say artist are actually very messy. Well, I can relateto that very much. But, my mother would freak out and scold me if I dont clean this up. So... yeah, I will clean it now!

I love this particular watercolor piece. I love the way it looks so light and airy, simple and elegant. I love the colors of her skin, and the minimal ink strokes. Her pose and body form are perfect to my eye, this painting is one of my favorites brother ❣️
