러시아 사관생도 안드레이 톨스토이는 모스크바로 향하는 기차안에서 제인 칼라한이라는 여자를 만나게 되며 러시아를 배경으로 한 거대한 사랑이야기가 시작됩니다.

때묻지 않은 순수한 사관생도와 정체를 알 수 없는 미모의 여인 사이의 사랑 이야기는 파국을 치닫는 절정을 넘어 러시아의 아름다음을 담아냅니다.

영상은 거대하고 음악은 장엄하며 스토리는 순수합니다. 무엇보다 러시아의 풍광이 아름다운 영상과 함께 명작으로 우리에게 다가오는 작품입니다.

울창한 나무숲을 지나는 기차씬, 러시아의 문화를 담은 음악, 레트로 풍의 필름, 장엄한 영상은 이 영화의 가장 큰 볼거리입니다. 영화는 사랑을 이야기하지만 필름은 러시아를 담아내고 있습니다.
