Nat King Cole, 1917년 미국 알라바마주에서 태어났습니다. 어려서부터 어머니에게 오르간을 배웠으며 10대때 학교를 중퇴하고 재즈 피아니스트로 활동을 시작했습니다. 그리고 재즈계의 전설이 되었습니다.

20세기 중반 흑인 가수로서는 처음으로 감미로운 노래를 불렀던 냇킹콜, 그의 목소리는 부드러운 중저음으로 대중의 많은 사랑을 받게 됩니다.
