[사운드] Up Where We Belong

사관에게는 무엇이 가장 중요할까요, 그리고 신사가 되기 위해서는 어떠한 모습을 갖추어야 할까요. 여기 사관과 신사에 대한 매뉴얼이 있습니다.

해군인 아버지의 영향으로 해군 부대에서 어린 시절을 보낸 잭 메이어는 어머니의 자살로 마음이 닫힌 채로 자라나게 됩니다. 부모의 짧은 사랑 사이에서 사생아로 태어난 그이기에 세상에 대한 원망이 가득합니다.

이기적이고 자신 중심으로 살아온 잭은 대학교를 졸업하자마자 해군 사관학교에 입학을 하게 됩니다. 그리고 그곳에서 사관으로서의 품위와 품격을 배우게 됩니다.

한편 항상 혼자였고 늘 자신만을 생각하며 살아왔던 잭에게 점점 인간적인 정을 느끼게 해주는 동료들이 생겨나게 됩니다. 잭은 사관이 되어가며 신사가 갖추어야 할 것이 무엇인지 조금씩 알아가게 됩니다. 그리고 사랑이 찾아오게 됩니다.

리차드 기어, 데브라 윙거의 젊은 시절 모습을 볼 수 있는 오래된 고전입니다. 특히나 영화에 삽입된 OST는 국내에서는 올드팝을 이야기할 때 늘 리스트 안에 들어가는 오래된 명곡입니다.

Joe Cocker의 묵직한 보컬이 큰 울림을 주는 곡, Up where we belong 준비했습니다. 영화 영상과 조 칵커가 직접 라이브로 곡을 부르는 영상을 같이 올립니다.
