Drawing like a pro - 101, - The Last Supper by Da Vinci - Summary - (#club100)
So, we will stop here with this drawing to make a summary of what we have seen through these nine lessons dedicated to this topic.
I hope this can stimulate you if you love to draw, to continue exercising and learning to use these tools that make your task easier.
Well, this is the final result of our drawing, we just needed to add the landscape behind the windows and find a balance of shadows and light points within the scene.
To achieve this drawing we started by studying this Da Vinci's painting to understand his drawing.
Thanks to what we have learned, it is obviously a one-point perspective, so we have drawn the vanishing lines for this drawing as we saw in 92-Masterclass, to find the vanishing point (VP) and the horizon line.
As a result of this important exercise of observation, we achieve the drawing you see below and at this stage, the drawing is ready to make the divisions in the walls. See 93 Masterclass II
How to draw the divisions is something we have seen in some previous lessons like these: 94-Masterclass or 63-lesson
Here, to draw the ceiling (96-lesson) we have used the knowledge gained in this lesson: 83-Masterclass
At this stage (97-Maasterclass), we have begun to establish the tonal values between each component of the drawing.
Our point of interest at this stage (98-Masterclass) was the tablecloth, so we used what was exercised in 31-lesson
How to set the tapestry pattern on the walls is what we learned here: 99-Masterclass
In this lesson (100-Masterclass), we have seen how to draw a pattern and how to project it on the walls applying the rules of perspective.
Finally, we draw the landscape behind the windows here on the rear wall, trying to make it visible enough but not relevant.
Then the tonal values have been adjusted by darkening the left wall and ceiling a bit, and also darkening the sides of the tablecloth to enhance the white centre.
Note that there is no pure white or pure black, everything light or dark is in relation to the other adjoining ones.

That summarized lesson is giving a chance to go thorugh everything once again. I am glad that you have done more detailed for every section. I was wondering have you used digital tools to do it this time? Have you ever tried to do hte same with pencil and what do you think is easier.

Yes, this time I have used digital tools but emulating the way of doing it with paper and pencil. I did it because it's faster (not easier).
I have tried to show the basic principles of drawing regardless of the medium you use.
Actually, in these days, artists, draftsmen/women or architects use a combination of mediums to achieve their works, often starting by drawing on paper and then digitizing them (as I do if necessary).
To be honest, I like working with digital media, but I miss the traditional ones a lot, so I'm really happy when I can use them.
I remember that time when in 80's the technical drawing dept with a standing tables and rules that was fixed on the side and was possible to move according the drawing. I really loved that. I can imagine that you really enjoy pencils and paper on other hand for planning something complex is digital tool is more appropriate and erasing is easier. You are great in using both, Jorge :)
Many things associated with physical tools and materials have a lot to do with other senses that digital media do not provide us with, I have very clear memories of the texture, color and smell of the pages of my first sketchbook as a child, the smell of the eraser too, I still love the smell of my pencils, the smell of the ink or the solvents in the oil, feeling the softness of the papers is so nice.
