Drawing like a pro - 3, tools and materials (part 2)

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago (edited)

Hi friends!

In this post, I would like to talk to you about other tools which are essential in the craft of drawing.

Tools for blur or blending

Blending stumps and tortillions are very useful to achieve a blur effect or blending in drawings. Cotton, wool, paper, or your fingers are also useful to get similar effects.

Blending stumps or tortillions you can make them yourself.

Silicone brushes are also good tools for drawing with pastel or chalk.

Which one is the most suitable for you? only practice will tell you.

Erasers

You can not miss erasers of different hardnesses and sizes.
It is worth noting here how very useful are the rubber pencil and kneadable eraser.

Other tools

Later I'll explain how important is to have tools like sandpaper, a knife or a small drawing panel.

I think these are the basic tools that should not be missing in a draftsman's atelier, there will undoubtedly be many more depending on what your specialty becomes.

In the next posts, I'll tell you how to use and why to use several of these tools.

I have started this series of posts dedicated to drawing, with the aim of sharing with you techniques, "secrets", tricks, tips, and curiosities, to teach you how to draw whatever you want, using the technique you want.
The road is long but full of beautiful things if you want to learn what I have learned from other artists and draftsmen.
After the introductory stage, I will start with the practice where I will show you interesting techniques to draw anything you want.
