Drawing like a pro - 40, The first traces - Commenting on your drawing (Power up 100%)

Hi friends!

In the Homework Contest #2, related to the previous Masterclass called The first traces,I proposed an exercise consisting of drawing a pot like the one I showed as an example.
The objective of this task was to practice the skills to make circles, straight lines, parallel lines, shading and taking measurements. So, the pot drawn was just a pretext to make our first traces.
In lesson 6 and the following lessons 7, 8 & 9 I have shown you the exercises you could do to acquire the necessary skills to draw easily and effectively. These exercises should be a permanent practice, so every time we draw again we will do better if we always keep in mind to pay attention to this. If you make circles or ellipses and they don't look good at first but if you try to correct the mistakes, the next ones will be better.
Another very important practice is learning to observe. Detect what is good and also our mistakes to improve them. If you don't try to improve by fixing what's wrong, you won't learn. So your progress will depend on persistence in overcoming mistakes.
Often when we are beginners we don't know how to observe or what to observe. This is the objective of these publications where I comment on your drawing. I try to help you to detect where your weaknesses are and to evaluate your progress. So take heart that this is not an easy path, although it is beautiful.

This is the drawing of our friend @stef1 that I will comment on today. I also want to thank her for the valuable contribution she makes to these lessons by participating in the exercises and submitting them to my analysis, which gives me the opportunity to try to explain some things in a better way.
In this case, I have made a video where I show the process of these corrections.

I thought a good way to help you visualize what needs to be better is to draw on Stef's drawing, so we can appreciate the difference.

Your drawing is good, very nice and delicate as always, only you need to practice observation and to make a stronger difference between light and dark areas.

I propose you @stef1 redraw the pot on the same drawing you already made. This is also a very good practice.

Watch the video with the full redraw process.

I hope this has been helpful to you.

I wish you a very nice day and good exercise!

And if you like to colour your drawings, I recommend the interesting and useful Color and Light classes of @fumansiu whose concepts you can apply both with traditional and digital techniques.

Thank you very much!!

I can see now the oval and you are absolutely right it is a bit sharp at both sides in my case. I definitely will amend my drawing, thank you for your video, really enjoyed it.
