As I have explained in previous posts, the purpose of these classes is to share knowledge, techniques, tricks, and tips regarding the craft of drawing. Consequently, the Homework Contest is intended to be a sample of the progress in carrying out the proposed exercises with the aim of developing your skills in the drawing process.

The Homework Contest intend to evaluate the drawing in the application of the resources taught in the masterclasses and also in previous lessons, which means that both the classes and the homework are a cumulative process, so will always be advisable to go to the beginning of the Drawing like a Pro posts to know the drawing techniques and put them into practice through the exercise.

I'm aware that this is a long process which can be a bit boring for some but nevertheless, it is what will allow them to draw what they want and in the style that suits them best in the future.
Learning from our mistakes is very valuable, so don't be afraid to make mistakes. The important thing is to recognize them and do better next time.

-----------------------------------------------

I am going to give my opinion on the drawing sent by our friend to whom I am very grateful for his participation.
I have to be consistent with the objective set in these classes, so I am going to analyze his work based on the achievement of the teachings and the exercises that have been proposed.
Perspective and depth I am not going to take into account because it is a subject that we have not yet seen in class.

A nice drawing but the first impression that this gives me is that it is drawn without following the teachings of the lessons and the master class.
The hardness of the lines is noticeable and there is an excessive curvature of the horizon line.
The lines drawing the box on the left above are excessively marked with respect to the rest of the drawing which breaks the harmony of the composition. This is possibly due to the big difference in the hardness of the pencils that were used. To avoid this, it is advisable to always use a short distance in the hardness range of the pencils and no more than three pencils, ideally, one or two (HB, B, 2B, for example depending on the grain of the drawing paper).

There is a lack of parallelism in the lines of the boxes and also in the shadows.

I hope that these observations will be useful both for you and for those friends interested in learning the craft of drawing.

-----------------------------------------------

It is my obligation to evaluate the participation in the Homework Contest based on the follow-up of the lessons and the exercises proposed to fulfill the objective of Drawing like a Pro, otherwise, I would not be contributing to help you improve and perfect your skills in drawing.

-----------------------------------------------

I want to advise you to read Stef's interesting interview with John Michael Keating, a great artist who speaks about talent, practice and many more.

I also would like to ask @stef1, @bambuka, @xpilar, and the members of WOX to encourage the participation of @josevas217 (his homework) with your upvotes.

-----------------------------------------------

I wish you a very nice day and good exercise!

Hello Professor and artist @jorgevandeperre
Interesting points, I hadn't particularly considered it, but the corrections you make are very objective, that's what it's all about.
Sometimes by wanting to highlight some things we end up creating imbalance, as in the case of the lines that are very marked, but I will keep it in mind now, and I will avoid doing it.
The parallelism is also another detail that I did not consider properly, with the lines that you have drawn it is evident.
Thank you very much for the experience and the recommendations.
