Drawing like a pro - 10, imitate is necessary (Power up 100%)
Hi friends!
I want to show you these Dalí's drawings where you will see lines, circles and doodles but used with a meaning, in a specific order.
Study this drawing, and copy the way to make the strokes to get the dark areas. See and copy how the shadows are defined. Don't make a copy of the drawing! just imitate the technique in your own drawings or doodles.
Notice in this drawing how the different shadows were drawn and see how the feeling of deep is given by making soft and thin lines to get an impression of distance.
Try to emulate the technical aspects of these drawings by using different pencil hardnesses on different drawings.
It is recommended not to use more than 2 or 3 pencils of different hardness in a drawing sheet, better yet master the techniques to use a single pencil of a single hardness in a drawing, reserving softer or harder pencils for very restricted areas.
Try to get depth dark areas with the hatching method.
Remember that the dark areas are obtained by drawing several smooth lines on the paper to not damage the grain of the drawing sheet.

I love such sketches, they sometimes tell more than the final drawing or painting. Looking through them we can see what the artist was thinking and how he was planning it. I am often feel not comfortable to go ahead and to do so, but maybe just need to try :)

Hi Stef, thank you very much for your beautiful words.
I agree with you, some drawings are more interesting than the final work. I have a lot to say about "the craft of drawing" and what we should expect from our own drawings or sketches.
I'm trying to do the homework contest right now.
Thanks again for the nomination!
Really good material here!
