Drawing like a pro - 96, Learning from Da Vinci

Hi friends!

Continuing with the drawing of Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper, we are now going to draw the lines on the floor.
We will use the horizontal line used for the location of the table legs (See: Masterclass II dividing this line into six equal parts as shown below.
01a.jpg

Then, draw two vanishing lines on both sides equidistant from each of the six divisions.
02a.jpg

Erase the helplines on the table and on the rear wall to make the drawing a bit clean.
03a.jpg

Erase all the helplines used to make the divisions on the walls. We will draw the cells on the ceiling.
Make the division of the ceiling into six parts as shown below, then by drawing a diagonal we will obtain the intersection point to draw the cells in the same way as it was done in Tiles.
05a.jpg

We need to draw helplines in the same way as we did previously for the floor but in both directions, horizontal and in the direction of the vanishing lines. See the close-up below.
07b.jpg

Outline all cells as shown below.
08a.jpg

Here, in the corner of the last cell on the left, I have drawn a small vertical stroke which will allow us to give the depth of the cells.
This stroke will allow us to draw a vanishing line that will give us the reference to draw all the other strokes and the horizontal lines necessary to transform these cells into boxes by having depth.

Here you can see the helplines drawn.

The ceiling is finished.

The last step is to draw the frieze above the central window.

This is the result and also is the homework I propose you.
By following the previous lessons 92-Masterclass - 93-Masterclass II - 94-Masterclass III and what we have see now you'll achieve to draw this nice challenge.

In the next lessons we will continue to draw more details of this painting by Leonardo.

I wish you a very nice day and good exercise!

And if you like to colour your drawings, I recommend the interesting and useful Color and Light classes of @fumansiu whose concepts you can apply both with traditional and digital techniques.
Very interesting indeed!

Or maybe you want to make a beautiful watercolour with your drawing!
Well, our friend @arcoiris is back with his magnificent watercolour lessons.

It is interesting to observe the process when a blank sheet gradually appears in place...something voluminous... don't stop :-))

Thanks friend for your kind words!

You are welcome :)

It is slowly starting to look like a painting especially hte fine details of paintins. I can't believe that using the mathematic and technical drawing skills you have come to this result. Love it!

Thank you Stef. You can do it too!
