Open Mic Night Wk 22 Entry: Eye Contact Part 3 (Original Song)

in #openmic7 years ago (edited)

Here is Part 3, the final installment as promised. Please enjoy the musical ride and let me know what you guys think. Best of luck to everyone else's entries. PS: I had a lot of time consuming and irritably agitating technical difficulties, which I still haven't been able to fix after trouble shooting with many software applications I downloaded after researching, so I had to submit two separate videos, read below for details, thanks for your understanding

Full Song Lyrics and Due Credits provided below.

Forgot to say Open Mic Night Contest Wk 22, so I made an extra video, this song is being entered also into another Rap contest simultaneously hosted by my brother Genesis7 out in Chi-city (Chicago).

The Audio Video is Off Sync but the Beat Quality is much better here, and I feel the music is more important to present first and foremost, but last video link below is perfectly synced.

Here The Audio Video is Synced perfectly, but the beat quality is lackluster

Full Song Lyrics

Verbal D
Chorus:
Eye contact
What do you see?
Less than a human being?
Death in a ruin scene?
Lesson to you and me, kid
We're destined to a world giving scrutiny (x2)

Verbal D
Verse 1:
Look into my eyes for tears
They'll be the ones to shed
All I ever wanted was love
and not to be underfed

Risen out the ghettos
And refuse to be gutter led
I could be the greatest
That's what my mother and brother said

Here to feed the world with knowledge
Not with that wonder bread
Times are tough, I'll give you solace
Help when your wounds have bled

People want us dead, mutiny
They wanna see us
Die out, Dry out like bread that is gluten free

So when I get up on the mic,
And speak out to the younger tikes
Always ask myself, so who the hell are you influencing?

Don't ever put somebody down
Craft my lyrics beautifully
Always catch myself
Before I'm popping off like loosened springs

People are disputing me
I'll get up out this losing spree
Cause truthfully, it doesn't matter if you choose to root for me

I follow God's plan, Live my life musically
And PRAY I AM humble under God's scrutiny!

Verbal D
Chorus:
Eye contact
What do you see?
Less than a human being?
Death in a ruin scene?
Lesson to you and me, kid
We're destined to a world giving scrutiny(x2)

Verbal D
Verse 2:
Judgement day
Don't try to run which way
We had a black and white warning
Like a pungent spray

Some become dungeon prey
Served on a luncheon tray
Diced in an onion fray
Sliced in a hundred ways

Don't be so redundant, say
"I'm reluctant today
To be alive and given a choice to make difference
I may"

Make no assumption, today
Because I function, today
Stop my repugnant ways
And be incumbent, and weigh

The abundance of all the love
That's been given out and displayed
I pray I'm on the right track
Like a London subway

Someday…
I hope to find the runway
To heaven
And be a role model for all the people
And not just on Sundays

That one change
That's all it ever takes.
...Dissolve the tricks that overtake
and wake up all the others
Chasing fallen feathers

...Raise our fallen brethren
No calling upon appalling fake angels
Dressed in white, playing shapes in snowflakes

There's only one true God, who can save us all
For He made us pure in spirit and ever tall
We can all stand together as one
And make a difference in the world, before it truly falls apart
And there's no longer any chance to save another soul,

And I can't have that on my conscience, so I storm ever forward making progress as I know it,

And you can join me anytime with Christ, 'cause this love we gotta show it with...

Verbal D
Chorus:
Eye contact
What do you see?
Less than a human being?
Death in a ruin scene?
Lesson to you and me, kid
We're destined to a world giving scrutiny (x4)

I'll still be continuing accepting donations until I can reach my goal to fly out to america with my children and wife to visit my family as it is very urgent indeed.

I've raised $814 and .88 cents of Steemit Currency in total from both My Posts and Donations from Steemit Community Members this 2017 forward and $00.00 in US Dollar Donations so far towards my goal of $ 6,000.00 (Six Thousand) US Dollars and will keep everyone updated with every new future post that I submit.
This total amount will not only include donations I've received to the Paypal account I've provided: [email protected], but it will also include the Steemit Currency that I accrue/receive from all of my personal posts starting the 1st of January of 2017 forward calculated after a 48 hour time frame is finished for the payout cycle of each post to avoid miscalculating the fluctuating price of Steemit Currency.

For more information on that, please check my New Year's/Happy Bday Post

Thanks sincerely again in advance for all your help, anything and everything helps.

It's always that passion! I love the spirit you put into every part of that. Awesome!

Thank you very much my friend, I learned early on how much passion and energy really transforms the presentation of a song and to stay true to myself so that I can always bring out the very best of myself when performing, so glad you enjoyed this and I'll be checking out your link today, thanks for the heads up! :)

Awesome job man!

Thank you bro, appreciate you giving it a listen and soaking up the good vibes, it means a lot. I also messaged you on steemitchat and I do plan on sharing that experience of mine, well one of them at least hopefully this week or the next.

Wow.. I mean, wow! I was really on the fence about this in the previews entries, but I held out for hope. Maybe the fact that I couldn't imagine how it would sound like really bugged me. For the previews entries, I got an inkling even though they weren't an exact match. This really turned out way better than I could've ever imagined. You really put on a clinic here! Wooo! Breathe, brother! This really solidifies my belief to just trust your process. Definitely one of my favorite work of yours!

Wow, that's really kind of you bro to express your thoughts and how you felt earlier. I do agree like I said earlier that the first and second verse, especially the second verse was a bit more unorthodox so it's how to read the rhythm seamlessly throughout without hearing the beat because I was writing the lines out like someone using a crack whip when I would speed up the intervals in certain places, it was just an overall fun piece to perform and it's definitely one of those songs that tests me lyrically, rhythmically, and helps to sharpen my cadence and enunciation skills in the heat of the passing moments on the beat. I'm glad to hear this is one of your favorites, that's a big compliment, thanks again bro!

Man, I really appreciate every your job .You doing, you feeling what you're doing. Well done, Bro. Good luck in competitions :)

Thanks a lot! That's very nice of you my friend, and I'm glad you liked this one. I appreciate you taking time out of your day to give me feedback. I only hope to keep creating quality music and sharing it to all of you here on steemit and elsewhere. There is so much motivation and inspiration to utilize, I have really come a long way. Thank you very much again, I will always need luck in the competitions :)

You've got the pipes brother! uv

Thank you for the up vote and the nice comment bro, much appreciated for you giving this a listen.

Anytime, every time. Thank you brother.

The rap style were is much more complex. It is like slow but very syncopated at the same time. For sure a skill I would need to develop haha. Mad props. Keep up the good work!

I always wondered how you make these videos? Are you listening to the beat and then singing?....If so how are we hearing the beat on the video haha. Thanks.

Thank you very much bro, I appreciate the genuine feedback and as far as my setup goes, I actually wear the headphones to record with the mic on the apple headphones which is plugged into the iphone which is resting on my laptop, and I have a small box speaker plugged into my laptop which displays my lyrics and also the box is directly facing upward aiming the sound into the microphone in my headphones cord.

That's my set up and it seems to work well. I tried to manually insert the beat with a video editor but that was a disaster cause the syncopation was off visually which was upsetting for sure, that's why I provided both links.

Okay makes sense! I used to do the headphone thing when recording multiple instruments on garage band. For vocals I always thought it was harder because your voice sounds different...although more like what others hear.

Yeah soon I'll be trying out a condenser mic for future performances but for now this set up works for what it is! :) I love garageband and it's music notation sheet music set up when I'm making beats.
