Happy SteemVersary To Me! - A One Year Recap Of My SteemAdventure (so far...)
About a week ago, I showed my appreciation for the Steemit community who has allowed me to reach the 60 of Reputation cap.
Today, it will mostly be about me with a 365 Steem days recap.
I know, it sounds redundant, pleonastic, or repetitive but it is the most logical course of action.
My first post on the platform was a brief introduction where I revealed that my main field of work is accounting.
By the way, I once had the idea of engaging myself in an office work/accounting tips series, but only one publication has come out of it yet.
- My mother is a Painter (My Artistic Family - Part 2)
- My father is a Car builder (My Artistic Family - Part 3)
- Me, Myself & I as wannabe Writer, Photographer & Philosopher (My Artistic Family - Part 4)
- Pot Head 4Life even if I stopped smoking 4 years ago
- My Awakening as a ‘‘Truther’’
First, I tried to write an editorial or philosophical kind of piece, but I realized I was not very good at it.
I tip my hat to those who can manage to successfully lay this type of well-thought-out article and generate argumentative discussions among Steemians such as @kyriacos, @krnel, @dwinblood, etc.
I did, however, write about economic and social matters to my satisfaction, but it was in French, my native language.
- Le double standard des médias québécois: la gauche ne peut jamais être qualifiée d'extrême...
Earlier, I was given the chance to translate en français two great reports by two very generous Steemians, namely @stellabelle and @papa-pepper.
- FINALLY, THE HOW-TO VIDEO YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR - How To Grab a Snapping Turtle by the Throat (A French Translation of @papa-pepper's Post)
Some of my first Steem steps were three lists of links, leading toward web sites related to topics that are of interest to me.
Again, it was a way to signal to others what I am about.
It was at a time when I knew nothing of markdown. Fortunately, my editing skills have been getting better since.
- Anarchists, economists, libertarians, voluntaryists or freedom lovers you should follow!
- The Mysterious online: a paranormal, spiritual, metaphysical & mystical portal
Another relatively easy writing exercise, I like to do on days I am less inspired or when I simply feel like sharing my love for music and cinema, is telling about My Top 10 Favorite songs, bands, movies, actors, or film directors.
- My Top 10 Favorite Christmas Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Cover Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Dance-Pop Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Eighties Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Frank Zappa Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Funk Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Jethro Tull Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Metal Bands
- My Top 10 Favorite Pink Floyd Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Porcupine Tree Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Prog Rock Bands
- My Top 10 Favorite Seventies Songs
- My Top 10 Favorite Journalism Movies
- My Top 10 Favorite Political Movies
- My Top 10 Favorite Pornstars (+ a funny boner bonus)
The most complicated topic I had to research and type about was the infamous Pizzagate scandal.
- Andrew Kline, James Alefantis, and the rats
- Alefantis, Friends of the Orphans & the Maccoby family
- Is James Alefantis a fan of Michael Alig, proud murderer & ''born chicken hawk''?
- How Pizzagate has ruined my Steemit experience
But the themes I have decided to pursue and which I am most proud of having put into form are made of texts surrounding pictures I took.
Such as the numerous Montreal/Other Cities' Murals posts where I give the readers the exact physical location of all the graffitis they get to virtually see.
- Montreal's Murals #2
- Montreal's Murals #3
- Montreal's Murals #4

- MemeChallengeFr #2 - Entrée #1
- Portrait Contest (Week 5) - Are You Talking to Me? (Suzy Lake)
Furthermore, those are the anomalies of my Steemit journey consisting of a video of a robot I met, a tarot session I was offering for free, and a Today I Learned write-up.
- Free Tarot Reading for Steemians (Ask Your Question Next)
- TIL: The word Trichotillomania
Let's not forget the occasional crypto or Steem related posts.
- From crypto ignoramus to finally buying my first Bitcoin & Steem
- Thank You All for my (soon-to-be) Reputation 60! (Steem Stats explanations included)
Equally memorable are my trials at giving out cooking recipes.
- Sprouted Lentils Salad Recipe
Still, the best moments of this network experience is when I got to put into practice the teamwork spirit of Steemit.
When @raymonjohnstone proposed Rising Steem RPG, a kind of strategy game similar to Risk, for example.
An important highlight of my Steem life was when I was accepted in order to contribute to the very popular @steemsports.
Back then, a group of about twenty or thirty people was putting efforts together so to provide four rewards distribution games a day.
For a brief period of time, I felt part of something Steemingly important under the supervision of @thecryptodrive and of @crytpoiskey who was assigned as my editor.
- SteemSports: MLS – TORONTO FC versus NEW YORK CITY FC - Mass SP Distribution Game!
- SteemSports: NEW YORK CITY FC vs TORONTO FC - Mass SP Distribution Game!
- SteemSports: MONTREAL IMPACT versus TORONTO FC - Mass SP Distribution Game!
- SteemSports: TORONTO FC versus MONTREAL IMPACT - Mass SP Distribution Game!
- SteemSports: (United States Soccer League) TORONTO FC vs SEATTLE SOUNDERS - Mass SP Distribution Game!
Sports, games, contests, challenges, etc. are the best way, in my humble opinion, to meet people and form relationships on the web.
Joining the Steemit Fantasy Hockey League allowed me to chat and planned with people toward a common goal.
I'm happy I got to know other sports fans such as @bacchist, @full-measure, @shenanigator, @will-zewe, etc.
- [SFHL] Week 8 Preview w/participative Upvoting Rewards
- [SFHL] Week 9 Preview w/participative Upvoting Rewards
Finally, SFHL wasn't the only way I got to develop interesting ongoing discussions with other Steemers.
In fact, every day I log in, I can be sure there will be interesting people here available for positive human exchanges.
Additional mentions to the following companions who are not specifically named anywhere above. Hope I'm not forgetting anybody...
@ausbitbank, @grandpere, @jamisa, @roxane, @surfermarly, @teamsteem, @titusfrost, @v4vapid...
Those 365 days probably passed in a flash for you, I have been following you for two months since I have joined this platform . A big congratulations to you for your milestone and your reputation . What I like is that , I can learn from your first post to your recent on how to progress like you did . Congratulations again and thank you for being part of a community that teaches one another . Cheers 🍻
Thank You!!
Yes, it went by very very fast! Still can't believe I've Steemed for an entire Earth's orbit!
Glad if I can help ''younger'' Steemians in any way!
Comments like yours are the best examples of what we are slowly but surely building together here! :-)
Congratulations! I'm just a steemit baby to you. I have so much to learn and try out. It was nice to see how your posts have evolved over time. We are not bound to our old cowpaths. We can break out of our old M.O.s and try new things.
Thanks! Me too, I still have things I don't quite get yet. The depth of Steemit is one of the platform's aspects which can make things interesting. Well said! We definitely do learn from trials and errors.
Yep, the complexities of it are definitely involved in my initial draw to steemit. It's kinda like a game. Sure beats candy crush lol.
Congratulations to you...!!
