Montreal's Murals #7 - Ubiquitous & Fleeting
Before delving into this week's murals, I want to take the time to say thank you to all the readers and commentators who come on the posts to interact with me by leaving nice and/or constructive replies.
Your support is truly appreciated and inspirational!
As proof of your ideas being taken into account, here are the two comments which influenced today's title:
Wow! You are putting an amazing amount of effort into sharing the art and the location. Very cool! Love murals, but graffiti is ubiquitous, isn't it? - @crystalize
thanks for sharing these street art murals - always a fleeting type of art - @timelapse
Both remarks are true in that the fact that graffitis, in general, are ubiquitous and fleeting in nature.
You will find them almost anywhere but yet, they often find ways to disappear and even sometimes be replaced by other ones, for good or bad depending on everyone's respective tastes.
So, as I had mentioned in one of my answers to the quotes above, replacements will be the theme for this MM #7.
Our first replaceable candidate has had three updates.
This is both according to the Web and my camera.
From NITASSINAN ~ NOTRE TERRITOIRE, the Innu's ancestral homeland, later on, added with Scrooge McDuck, Gyro Gearloose, and one of the Beagle Boys, to a psychedelic figure contemplating the inner mechanics of a wide open house full of people.
The second example is on a commercial building's wall.
It is important for a business to always keep a fresh look in order to constantly tease the eye of its targeted customers.
So, no surprise here to see a new painting job having been done by Lave Auto Prince and Monsieur Muffler.
I have been meaning to get the following photo for the longest time, but I finally only got to capture it a couple of weeks ago, pushed by the specific intent to insert it here.
Artistically speaking, I prefer the old (separated into four parts) one but from a marketing point of view, I have to admit that the new one is way more catchy.
This is the third and final destination but the best way to demonstrate the phenomenon of ephemeral street art.
We are now at a place where tags artists get to practice their fine art without any chance of getting in troubles with the law.
It always instinctively felt to me to be this kind of permissible spot, but I only had confirmation of this a couple of weeks back when I came across two policemen on bicycles who looked at the three or four guys with paint cans in hands, spraying on the concrete there, and did absolutely nothing about it.
Let me share with you this location's bests that I have seen, over the ten last years.
If you enjoyed, please consider upvoting, leaving a comment, and maybe even resteeming.
