They can be considered interesting in regards to their history, their architecture, their general prominence, or all of those at once.
Montreal has the reputation of being a North America city with a European vibe. Its historical buildings' architecture is probably the main cause for this feeling of an Old Continent atmosphere. See for yourself in the first installment of Five Beautiful Buildings in Montreal.

3. WESTMOUNT POST OFFICE
Architect : Willis Ritchie
Architectural Style : Baroque Revival
Year of Completion : 1913
Original Usage : Post Office Station
Usage : office building
4. PAVILLON BANQUE ROYALE WESTMOUNT
Architects : E. & W. S. Maxwell
Year Built : 1904
Original Usage : branch of the Royal Bank of Canada
Usage : office building
5. HÔTEL PLACE D’ARMES
Architects : Hopkins & Wily
Architectural Style : Neoclassical
Year Built : originally erected in 1870
Original Usage : financial institutions
Usage : hotel
En effet, l'architecture est vraiment proche du style haussmannien, typique des grands bâtiments du 19ème siècle en Europe.
