The Montreal's Murals virtual visit is back.

Come with me, there's a lot for the artistic loving eye to see!

Today's landmark? Rue Clark!

The street is named after Stanley Clark Bagg. Clark was an upper class notary and justice of the peace of British origin. At one point in the nineteenth century, he was the second most important landowner on the Montreal island, and he was a member in many social clubs. He was the president in two of them, the numismatics and archaeological societies. Mr. Clark married the eldest daughter of Frances MacGregor, an old scottish kings' descendent, who had the chief of the MacGregor clan as another one of her ancestors. He took the crown's side against the insurrection in 1837 by participating in the battle of Saint-Eustache. Stanley Clark Bagg was a prominent figure who had contacts with people in London, Philadelphia & Wisconsin. He was a die-hard conservative who could be considered at the time as part of the Montreal Anglo-Saxon establishment.

We end our trip on the Avenue Duluth, named in honor of Daniel Greysolon, Sieur du Lhut who is the first European to step foot in the city of Duluth, Minnesota. The anglicized form Duluth was also used for a city of the same name located in Georgia. He finalized peace talks between the Dakota (Sioux) and the Anishinaabe (Saulteur) at the western end of Lake Superior. During his explorations as a French soldier, he planted the flag of France in the village of Izatys. Some of the inhabitants of this great Nadouecioux (Sioux) village captured a catholic priest. Greyloson is the one who negociated the release of Louis Hennepin, the Franciscan priest held captive. Daniel Greysolon went toward the west further than any other white man before him.

What a great post. I am happy that many cities as well as mine are using this art form to attract people back into the downtown district.

Art culture is exploding life back into our cities.

At first sight at my replies tab, I told myself: a woman barfing, what is that about? Then I had the nice surprise to see she was leaking hearts out! Cool Gif!

That is exactly what I asked myself at one point tonight when preparing the post and finding all kind of murals I had not shoot during my vitual walk: are all big cities with that many of great murals? I guess you just answered it for me! I think there is a public program helping to finance this kind of art here, I'll look into it and I might include it in my next post on the topic.

Cool post! I resteemed and I'll share on Facebook. You should also share it on socially media you have.

Thanks a lot for the shares! Good idea, I'll see what I can do.
