hERoIC15397 : What's behind the Name? (153, 39, 7, 137 & more)

in #mathematics8 years ago

What is the significance of the name that I've chosen for myself on Steemit?

First off, the name should appear as @hERoIC15397 not @heroic15397, but since the platform didn't allow for capital letters in one's moniker, I had no choice but to settle for one without the four letters E R I C standing out. The intended goal, like I mean elsewhere online, would have been to reveal my real name by playing with the letters of the adjective related to the word hero. Yes you can't have missed it, the proper noun is Eric.

Let's play a little with those letters and numbers after using the Gematria Calculator. The numbers in the table below are the numerical values showing up as results for words researched and the word beside it is the word with the same numerical value with the most searches by people using the site. Example: Steemit gives in Jewish Gematria 339 (= People Sin) and 546 (= Phoenix) in English Gematria.

GematriahERoIChoERIC15397
Jewish155 = Science58 = Again97 = BarackF E A R G O DBarack
English348 = Calendar23 = W210 = ChinaPurpose PlanAnthony

Now let's try and make a prophecy:

Don't FEARGOD he has a Purpose Plan, the Science tells us that for some reason having to with China, Barack successor to W, will work the election Calendar in his favor and be elected Again. Just like (Mark) Ant(h)ony was part of the first official and legally established Triumvirate of the Roman state, Barack will be the first post-ratification of the 22nd Amendment President to make it to a Third Term.

I'm kidding!! Of course the people going on the site go there with a mind bended toward apocalyptic style interpretations and thus, we should expect nothing less then words coming out that could fit a prediction. It just shows how the Gematria Calculator could be put to good use for games or writing narratives purposes on Steemit. Just a thought.

153

Why that number? I never actually read the Bible but when I heard that the number 153, who at face value seems to be quite ordinary, appeared in it and had feed discussions among scholars throughout history, I was intrigued. Let's first read about 153 (number) In the Bible in Wikipedia's words and we'll come back at our discussion:

The Gospel of John (chapter 21:1–14) includes the narrative of the miraculous catch of 153 fish as the third appearance of Jesus after his resurrection.[6]

The precision of the number of fish in this narrative has long been considered peculiar, and many scholars, throughout history, have argued that 153 has some deeper significance. Jerome, for example, wrote that Oppian's Halieutica listed 153 species of fish, although this could not have been the intended meaning of the Gospel writer because Oppian composed Halieutica after the Gospel text was written, and at any rate never gave a list of fish species that clearly adds up to 153.[7][8] It has also been noted that the Tetragrammaton occurs 153 times in the Book of Genesis.[9]

Augustine of Hippo argued that the significance lay in the fact that 153 is the sum of the first 17 integers (i.e. 153 is the 17th triangular number), with 17 representing the combination of divine grace (the 7 gifts of the Spirit) and law (the Ten Commandments).[10][11] Theologian D. A. Carson discusses this and other interpretations and concludes that "If the Evangelist has some symbolism in mind connected with the number 153, he has hidden it well,"[12] while other scholars note "No symbolic significance for the number of 153 fish in John 21:11 has received widespread support."[13]

Writers claiming a major role for Mary Magdalene have noted that in Greek isopsephy her epithet "η Μαγδαληνή" bears the number 8 + 40 + 1 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 30 + 8 + 50 + 8 = 153, thus, it is suggested, revealing her importance.[14] Similarly, the phrase "τὸ δίκτυον" (the net) used in the passage bears the number 1224 = 8 × 153,[14] as do some other phrases. The significance of this is unclear, given that Koine Greek provides a choice of several noun endings[15] with different isopsephy values.[16] The number 153 has also been related to the vesica piscis, with the claim that Archimedes used 153 as a "shorthand or abbreviation"[14] for the square root of 3 in his On the Measurement of the Circle. However, examination of that work[17] does not find the number 153 used in that way.[4]

Evagrius Ponticus referred to the catch of 153 fish, as well as to the mathematical properties of the number (153 = 100 + 28 + 25, with 100 a square number, 28 a triangular number and 25 a circular number) when describing his 153-chapter work on prayer.[18] Louis de Montfort, in his fifth method of saying the Rosary, connects the catch of 153 fish with the number of Hail Marys said (3 plus 15 sets of 10),[19] while St Paul's School in London was founded in 1512 by John Colet to teach 153 poor men's children, also in reference to the catch.[20]

So according to the Gospel of John, 153 would revolve around the concept of catching fish with a net. Fish & Net, in what other familiar context would have we have heard about these two words together, fellow Steemians? Maybe it could be as whales, dolphins and minnows swimming in the InterNet sea of Steemit? It doesn't mean anything particular but it's just a fun thought I had when I woke up this morning, in fact it was the last thought I had before I opened my eyes. At this point I need to explain why I made this number personal. While many people will look up at a clock and see 11:11 all the time (I even read a book about this call 11:11 the Time Prompt Phenomenon: The Meaning Behind Mysterious Signs, Sequences, and Synchronicities) I, for myself, started to notice 153 and variants of it (53, 351, 135) everywhere. Even yesterday, when I started writing this blog and thought to myself that I should go to bed and finish tomorrow, I looked up at the clock to find out it was 3:51 in the morning. Would you tell me I'm crazy if I told you I went as far as buying a t-shirt with Levis 53 written on it as a good luck charm, I guess? So now , let's ge a bit serious, what are the interesting mathematical properties of 153?

39

Among 15397, you can find and isolate the number 39. Being born between october 4 and october 8, Rehael Angel of Submission, would be my guardian angel. Rehael is believe to be the 39th name of God. Rehael being associated with parental matters, 39 is also the number of weeks of gestation as the lenght of a typical pregrancy. It's 3 times 13, a significant number in people's (good or bad) faiths and beliefs. Like 153, 39 has some interesting mathematical properties and religious undertones, I'll let you discover them by yourselves.

137

Now, if you only consider the 1st, 3rd & 5th digits of 15397, you obtain 137. It is a number that draws the attention of physicists and esoterists at the same time. The importance of 137 in those two fields seemingly wide apart, came to my attention by a virtual friend in the old days of My Space. Knowing I had an interest for synchronicities in general and the work of Carl Jung, he shared with me an information coming from a book call Deciphering the Cosmic Number: The Strange Friendship of Wolfgang Pauli and Carl Jung, which was writen by Arthur I. Miller, a historian of physics:

One of the questions they explore is why the prime number 137 repeatedly crops up in quantum physics, in connection with the strength of the electromagnetic force (the number emerges in a combination of the speed of light, the charge of the electron and Planck's constant). Many physicists, including Pauli, strove to explain this number, and it is no surprise that Jung - always drawn to mysticism - became intrigued by the problem. In the context of the entire book, this is a minor theme so it is a little surprising that it gives the book its title.

Pauli's second wife did her best to prevent the publication of his correspondence with Jung, fearful that they would damage her husband's scientific reputation. After reading Miller's rewarding book, one can only be relieved that her wish was denied. For one thing, the letters demonstrate how seriously Pauli took questions on which his own expertise had little purchase, as well as his affection for Jung. It is no surprise to learn that, when Pauli was dying in a Zurich hospital, Jung was the last person he asked to see. One can only wonder what Jung thought when he heard the number of Pauli's room: 137.

As would say Spock: fascinating.

15397

What about the entire 15397 number? It's not even a prime number, its prime factorization is 89 times 173. Tonight, I've discovered that 15397 (Ksoari) is the name of an asteroid. Just like me, it's not a star, just a regular physical object wandering around in the Universe.
