This is my last and final comment to finish the Community Engagement Challenge. I wanted to end by thanking all of you for pushing me to get there and for your support during a tough time. I also wanted to sum up what I've gained by participating. I've written seven posts over the last nine days, gained 29 followers, and increased the total number of posts by 500. While none of my work garners more than a couple of dollars and at times feels unnoticed in this vast see of quality content, I've definitely learned the value in finding other great work and supporting it. Thank you @merej99 for your mentoring and pushing (and maybe nagging? Lol!) It's greatly appreciated!
(Had to go with the Steelers...that's my team!) and it's off to sleep for me!

Running a Race Without a Finish Line So I'm going stop running now and just enjoy the finish and be here to just cheer on those who still need a little help getting over the finish line.

Ok @kubbyelizabeth I've commented on several. My observations are that you're leaving a lot on the table there as far as getting to the finish line.
There are lots...and lots of comments you've left that could be responded to. Try engaging just a little more and you'll be there before the end of today...or certainly by the end of the challenge. If you don't understand...because I'm so cryptic lol...then just ask.

For most I think the hardest part of the challenge is not knowing where others were positioned regarding the 500 comment portion of the race.
I know you're doing as much as you can @merej99 and you've done exceptional since realizing you may have bitten off more than you could chew. So many runners...lol careful what you wish for eh? ~smiles~
But you didn't quit...oh no...not you! You're an inspiration to all. I applaud your effort...and your talent!
Can I impose on you to maybe squeeze just a little more out here so close to the finish? I know you're on track with where others are on the 500 comment count. Could you possibly post those numbers...somewhere?
Or would that be contrary to a rule I'm unaware of?

If you're a minnow with less than 10 SP (steem power) and experiencing the bandwidth issue you should go to this link to see how someone is willing to help. I understand the only remedy for us is to simply wait for 10 minutes to as much as an hour for some. I've been having great difficulty with this for the past 2 days...even now I don't know if this will go through...but I'm here trying.
Don't give up...you can still cross that 500 comment finish line and I will do my best (under the circumstances to help those who ask.

I was thinking that we could drink a beer or why just not a hot cappuccino in Lisbon (in case we are able to bring ourselves there, because I should also pass through few challenges to make it). It's almost over.. :)
I'm hoping to get to Lisbon this year. It might help if I stopped giving away the SBD in prize pools and #payitforward initiatives but I can't seem to help myself!
Maybe we should do something about you @merej99. And #payitforward should stay #payitforward. This is one of the most important steemit initiatives and as #steembassadors should keep promoting that. Let's think about something you aren't able to do yourself and this will be our gift to you (but please participate in generating the ideas. We need your experience.) I'd add @denamrkguy to the conversation as well.

I too must confess that I have strayed from my task on the challenge a few times...for good cause. A couple heads up from participants who may have given or just were unaware where things stood. I think I helped a couple over the finish line...and that is a big part of this challenge. I see that more clearly now.
I also checked out and commented/resteemed Neo's link you provided. I think I did well in painting a mind picture in the comment I left there. Practicing quality comments can only bring more benefit moving forward from this challenge. You were so right about that part...finish or no finish. :D

@jlufer, have you noticed a difference with your challenge posts on traffic, upvotes, and overall feedback? I am curious to know.
Even before I cross the finish line, I should say that this challenge has contributed a lot in terms of building a healthy routine of writing everyday. Indeed, I had to take a small brake for a while, but I'm still in the mood of creating and adding value here.
This is really good to hear @steemfluencer. My hope is that everyone who participated, even if they were proud in the crowd and just following along, found value in these exercises. There is purpose behind each task :)

See what I just did here...there...well anyway. I made another post and all are counted to the 500, your's, their's and even the spammers count. It's the comment ticker on the header of your post that is counted.
Now I don't know what @merej99 is looking at as quality posts...I'm sure she would have mentioned it to you by now if she had issues with yours...but it's really not that hard.
Just say what's on yer mind from reading a comment. That makes it relevant. You'll be surprised how often someone replies back. After all it's just good manners right?

exactly. with the adjustments to her posts to bring them up to par, it's the comments in her own feed that can really get her to the end...which is one of the parameters. Of course, you don't have to engage with the spammers but it is technically a comment if you do.
I haven't thought about that until you mentioned it. A comment is a comment, and I can make some pretty nice comments. :)

What is that project about?
It's a project designed in the manner of the Pay It Forward Movie. It's to keep the memory alive of a dear friend who lost his life in Iraq on July 7th, 2004. Essentially if you receive a gift you agree to retell the story of Michael Barkey and ask if two people would like to receive a gift. The people receiving the gift agree to the same thing you did...retell the story of Michael Barkey and send out two gifts to people who agree to what you did....
