STEEMIT CULINARY CHALLENGE # 34: MintyBerry mingles with a GreenCoconut

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Oh hello, lovely people! Here is my first entry into the "a smoothie for @smooth" #steemitculinarychallenge.

Many thanks to our gracious host @woman-onthe-wing and to this week's fabulous judge @rebeccaryan. So glad to see this challenge is back on! Now let's get down to it!

This green and purple beauty is a complementary mingling of fruits and superfoods sure to fill you up without bringing you down. With no added sugar, this colorful smoothie goes down easy.

The green layer is packed with nutrition. The fresh spinach and liquid chlrorophyll bring on the green plant energy. Lemon juice adds a fresh twist and a punch of vitamin C, while coconut water pumps you up with electrolytes. Bee pollen from a local farm is sure to boost your immunity while easing digestion, and mango, banana, and yogurt bring on the sweet and creamy for the win.

The purple layer is loaded with antioxidant-rich berries, and refreshing garden mint. Chia seed and cacao nibs lend their superfood hands to give you loads of energy, and unsweetened almond milk brings it all together.

Wow, that looks amazing. Good luck in the challenge!

Thanks @lrich! Glad you stopped by - fingers crossed!

reading this and looking at the pics just made me hungry

Looks amazing.....Yum, yum, yummy! :)

Thanks @awesome-seven! In my Tum, tum, tummy!! :)

That looks so good!!! I typically make a smoothie for breakfast each morning with blueberries, protein powder, and assorted other ingredients.

But this one looks like it's loaded with good stuff, so I'll will have to give it a try!

Awesome post @jaymorebeet, up-voted and re-steemed.

Thanks @cognoscere! Your smoothie recipe sounds great for a breakfast-on the go! I love liquid chlorophyll - Sometimes I add it to my water, but it's also great mixed into smoothies. I first had it as 'spa water' on our honeymoon in mexico, but it didn't take much snooping around the place to figure out the secret ingredient!

Holy moly !! The colors is what attracted me to the post then I just began to have even more interest

Yay!! Thanks @journeyoflife! I'm glad to hear that the colors lured you in and the content made you stay to read! :) Many thanks!

Oooooooooh @jaymorebeet these look and sound so beautiful. I love green and purple together, a very pretty combination, and with a splash of yellow along with the chia... stunning! I have no trouble imagining the flavour and I love it! This is a wonderfully presented recipe and photos, and I wish you good luck for the judging!

Thanks so much @woman-onthe-wing! The lemon and mint in each of the layers really do make this so refreshing for a hot day. :) Thanks again!!

Fantastic entry @jaymorebeet! I love how you took your time to pour your submission and get independent layers. Chia seed thickens over time and becomes heavier and dense. Your timing on your pour is perfect and the overall glassed presentation is eye catching. Well done!!

Thanks @rebeccaryan! It's trickier than I thought it would be to keep the layers separate. Chia is not only a great ingredient but a good stabilizer too! You're so right :)

It is beautiful, great smoothie, great ingredients, great pictures and awesome nutritious recipe.

Thanks so much @healthyrecipe! It was fun to make and even more fun to drink and share with the family :)

So many yummy ingredients.............love the colors too 💚🌸🍇🌸🍇💚

Thanks @lenasveganliving! There's a lot going on in this smoothie! So good!
