In the Park part 26 (5-minute freewrite Day 277 prompt: cancer)

The Grapevine Wine Tasting Rooms proved to be a pleasant, casual locale. The proprietor greeted the girls heartily, announcing, "Welcome, ladies! We have a special today! For only $10 you can sample all the wines you like!" The girls looked at each other and giggled. "Well, why not?" replied Selene. "Let's do it!" And so they each paid the $10 and proceeded to sample a wide variety of wines, including both white and red, and some unusual varieties like huckleberry or chocolate wine. There were crackers and cheese to munch on as well. They both lost track of time, and began to feel quite relaxed. This was such an unexpected treat! Suddenly Lisa glanced at her cell phone. " Oh no! We must get going! It's already 4:30 and the specialty story closes at 5:00! How on earth did three hours fly by like that?"

Grabbing Selene by the wrist, Lisa got up and hurried out the door and up the street. Since they had walked to the second thrift store, they were now several blocks away from the specialty grocery store. They nearly ran all the way, barely waiting for the lights to change at the intersections. Panting and sweaty, they staggered up to the entrance of the grocery store. It was 4:50, and the sign said "Closing at 3:00 today. Going with Mom to her cancer treatment."

"Oh no!" gasped Lisa. "Now what are we going to do? I wonder if there is any other store in town that sells coconut yogurt?"
