Description
Learn the function of Analyzer.
Analyzer is a frequency scope. It displays the input frequencies from any module we connect to it. You can connect up to four sound sources which will be displayed on the screen in four different colors.

Learn how to read the frequency display.
The display in Analyzer shows frequencies from the lowest on the left to the highest on the right. Amplitude or volume is up and down. When a sound source is connected to one of the four inputs a graph is shown with the full range of frequencies from the sound source.
Learn the various Inputs.
There are four inputs in Analyzer. Each produces an independent image on the display. Each of the four images is a separate color and each image shows the fundamental frequency at the top of the screen in its own color.

Learn how to adjust the variable of Analyzer.
There are a number of adjustments in Analyzer. Range adjusts how wide of a range of frequencies which will be displayed. Smooth adjusts the number of frames displayed of the sound. Lower settings show some jitter, but while higher makes a clearer image it taxes your CPU. Quality adjusts the sample rate that Analyzer takes of the sound when producing an image. The higher the rate the clearer the image but the more strain it puts on your computer's CPU.

Learn about harmonics in sound.
Almost all sounds include numerous frequencies. Sounds produced by oscillators will have a fundamental frequency then several frequencies above it. These additional frequencies are called harmonics or overtones.

VCV Rack is an open source application, which means that it is free for everyone to use. Please consider going to the developers' website and show your support for the project - http://www.vcvrack.com
