CLOSE TO THE CREATURES WITH PAPA - BANDED TIGER MOTH
I’m not sure that I had ever seen this one before!
The Banded Tiger Moth (Apantesis vittata) is a striking yet small specimen. My son saw this one and called me over. Honestly, I don’t think that I ever remember seeing one of these before.
As with any creature that can fly away whenever it feels like it, this moth had other things to do besides modelling for @papa-pepper. I still got a few nice shots, and my “proof” selfie. Has anyone else seen this kind of moth before?
As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Unique butterfly!
It sure is! Thank you.
The powder-like substance on the wings of Moths are corrosive - burns the skin.
Don't know if it's peculiar to skin type, but i reacted to it several times in the past and so are some few people i know.i went to a boarding school while growing up and have seen a fair share of different types of Moths.
Wow, I've never heard of that. Maybe it is a special kind of moth that does that. Not sure.
Nice shots @papa-pepper
Here is my buddy)
Very cool Buddy @elviento!
Whoa! Butterfly Moth lol
Beautiful shots as always! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for checking them out.
Beautiful color of a moth, not ordinary. Thank @papa-pepper !
You're welcome. It is beautiful.
Nice find, and well photographed!
You could put one of the photos on Wikipedia, if you are so inclined, the article there doesn't have a photo yet.
I do not know how to do that....
You need to go to https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:CreateAccount&returnto=Main+Page to make an account, no real name or credentials required, and then go to "upload a file". When that is done, you can put the photo on the page.
Or, you can let me do it if you want, but then it would be under my account.
I'll give it a try. If I can't figure it out, then you can do it. I'll let you know.
OK.
Great Pictures, and being old, I grew up knowing that a Tiger Moth was an Aircraft ( Bi-Plane)
LOL. Must be a different species!
Indeed!
Nice, I haven't seen any moths with that pattern. Quite bold and charming too!
Thanks. I'm not sure how common they are, I just know I don't recall seeing one previously.
Thank you for the mention father :-)
