CLOSE TO THE CREATURES WITH PAPA - Leech
Finally, a creature most people dislike even more than snakes!
This certainly isn’t the biggest leech I’ve ever gotten to observe up close, but when one stretches out to about six inches, it is still a good size.
A lot of people despise these blood-suckers, but they do have some benefits. If I remember right, in cases of dismemberment, doctors would even use leeches to such out the old blood from the dismembered part prior to attempting to reattach it.
Whether you like leeches or not, they still can serve a purpose, and they still look interesting up close! Check it out!

Bloody leaches! :) One thing that has always got me checking my pants after a bush walk. Here in Australia we do come across them often. Not a big fan however they are intriguing to watch move that is for sure. Hypnotising!

Amazing little creatures. Remember them following the canoe in Boundary Waters area, they'd swim after us, stretched out as long as possible. Have a worse name than they are, but then so do many animals. Thanks for sharing the leech.

Yes, spent a whole summer there in a school camp years ago. What a wonderful area. Except for the skeeters. The un-official state bird. Never saw a night as dark as when there, in all my born days. Feeling our way around in the dark from building to building.

They make excellent fish bait too, catfish love them as do other fish but you will get much more success with catfish.
Bass seem to get all over them too! Excellent point. At one lake up north in Wisconsin, I know where to get a lot of leeches and love using them for bait!

I was gonna make a joke about resemblance to politicians, but unlike politicians, leeches still have use in medicine even today!
