The next morning I showed up at the lab in high spirits, which did not go unnoticed by my colleagues at work.

— Oh, you're glowing! You've become quite a beauty — Robert complimented me from the doorway — has my promise to give you your freedom so transformed you? Are we all so tired of you here that you are in a hurry to leave us? I might be offended — he added jokingly.

— No, of course I am glad to be able to visit the most remote corners of this planet, to meet its indigenous inhabitants, to explore new species of flora and fauna. But I shall miss you all, for I feel a kindred feeling towards you...

— Robert, is there any other reason for Vickie to glow? — perhaps she spent a stormy night with her handsome husband, — laughed one of the women named Zaria, who had often assisted me in my experiments. She winked slyly at me.

I was embarrassed, and my friends laughed together. But they did not have long to have fun. Robert, putting on a stern air of authority, ordered the jokes to be put aside and set to work. But I saw a twinkle of mischief in his eyes for a brief moment, and then it was gone.

My high spirits persisted throughout the working week. The case was progressing well in the hands, all the trials and experiments took place without a hitch. That's what proper motivation means!

On the first day off, Arthur and I decided to meet in a small circle with our fellow earth crew members just to spend time together. You never know how long will last separation from friends, what will be our journey on this planet.

There's Arthur, who was once known as a brave man, suddenly turned sour, and this despite the fact that we have already advanced far enough on the way home. All we have to do is finish this expedition, get back to Ergan, where the ship we're here for will be waiting for us.

When he heard about the meeting, Lee immediately offered his services in the preparation of snacks, and Peter in turn promised that we will not be bored, he will take over the entertainment part of the program.

— You will only bring something strong to your taste, — he said, as we discussed the details of the meeting.

So for work and preparations for the weekend time flew by. And then, at the end of the week, Robert came up to me and, with a conspiratorial wink, said quietly::

— Well, beauty, dance! The boss has to approve your expedition, immediately after the weekend to start training!

Needless to say, how happy I felt. It seemed to me that my wings grew behind my back — a little more, I will wave them and fly straight to the edge of the world!

Looking at me, Arthur came alive. I energized him by sharing my positive mood with him. He was already looking forward to the weekend, looking forward to the joy and pleasure of meeting friends.

And then, finally, Arthur and I, dressed up according to the local fashion, are already standing at the door of Peter's apartment with a package with a set of drinks for every taste...
