Siberia Travel - Old Shamans and healing (Part 31 en-de)
A special surprise awaits me when I came back from Schagonar: All the representatives of my hostess were in a village today to attend a ritual that they did not miss on my advice. The shaman wanted to meet me and I arrived at the right time. He tests my drum, finds it very good and strong. You may see him in the video.
Von Schagonar zurück erwartet mich eine besondere Überraschung: Alle Verwanten meiner Gastgeberin waren heute in einem Dorf um ein Ritual zu besuchen, daß sie auf meinen Rat hin nicht ausfallen liesen. Der Schamane wollte mich unbedingt treffen und ich komme genau zur richtigen Zeit an. Er testet meine Trommel, findet sie sehr gut und stark. du kannst ihn im Video sehen.

A huntsman also came along and unpacked his prey. Owl wings and claws, they were ordered by another shaman, and so he now came to the city to deliver them directly.
Ein Jäger ist auch mitgekommen und packt seine Beute aus. Eulenflügel und Krallen, sie wurden von einem anderen Schamanen bestellt, und so ist er nun extra in die Stadt gekommen um sie direkt auszuliefern.
I demonstrate to the old shaman the power of my drum, which I only need to touch in order to have on the whole body again this strange reaction. Then I put my protection on, and the reaction is not coming up. He accept my music in a praying and very grateful way, then he asks me to help him. I do this with the Australian ritual, I can locate and eliminate two negative things. He lays there for a long time and seems to be very changed after it.
Ich demonstriere dem alten Schamanen die Kraft meiner Trommel, die ich nur anzufassen brauche um am ganzen Körper wieder diese Reaktion zu haben. Dann lege ich meinen Schutz an, und die Reaktion bleibt aus. Meine Musik nimmt er betend und sehr dankbar an, dann bittet er mich ihm zu helfen. Das tue ich mit dem australischen Ritual, ich kann zwei negative Dinge lokalisieren und beseitigen. Er bleibt lange dannach liegen und scheint auch sehr verändert zu sein.
I can not miss a visit: the duty for all foreign visitors is a visit to the Upper Shaman of Tuva, the venerable Kenin-Lopsan. His merits for the rebirth and acceptance of shamanism have made him famous all over the world, he has published a variety of books, and is distinguished as a living monument of shamanism. In 2004, he gave me the permission to work and the invitation to study the healing effects of music during shaman healing. My book on the Healing Play on the Mouth Harp is the result and he accepts it with great joy and gratitude. He gives me his latest work, the Tuvinian Shamans, and write a dedication in it.
Einen Besuch kann ich nicht ausfallen lassen: Die Pflicht für alle ausländischen Besucher ist ein Besuch beim Oberschamanen Tuvas, dem ehrwürdigen Kenin-Lopsan. Seine Verdienste um die Wiedergeburt und Akzeptanz des Schamanismus haben ihn weltweit berühmt gemacht, er hat eine Vielzahl von Büchern veröffentlicht, und ist als Lebendiges Monument des Schamanismus ausgezeichnet. Er gab mir 2004 die Arbeitserlaubnis und die Aufforderung die Heilwirkung von Musik bei Schamanenheilungen zu untersuchen. Mein Buch über die Heilende Spielweise auf der Maultrommel ist das Ergebnis und er nimmt es mit großer Freude und Dankbarkeit entgegen. Er schenkt mir sein neuestes Werk, die Tuvinischen Schamanen, und versieht es mit einer Widmung.

Der Hinterhof ist mit den uralten Stelen ein großes Geheimnis und ich darf es sogar fotographieren.
And then there is somebody who has made Tuva known in the world, Kongar Ol Ondar the master of overtone singing with his somewhat fancy number plate. Unfortunately, he died in the meanwhile at the age of 51.
Und dann taucht da noch jemand auf der Tuva in der ganzen Welt bekannt gemacht hat, Kongar Ol Ondar der Meister des Obertongesangs mit seinem etwas ausgefallenen Nummernschild. Leider ist er inzwischen mit 51 Jahren verstorben.

Was war denn nun das Ritual, zu dem deine Gastgeberin und die anderen aus dem Dorf gegangen sind?
Haben die dort keine ähnlichen Trommeln, oder warum waren sie so sehr von deiner begeistert?
Ich finde es faszinierend, dass Tuva dir eine Arbeitserlaubnis geben musste, ich wusste gar nicht, dass selbst der Schamanismus so reguliert ist (:

Amazing post! All the similarities between indigenous cultures and how they all practice some kind of shamanism from Australia to Siberia to the Americas to me shows how we have lost that ancient wisdom and connection to Nature because the newer mainstream religions are missing these things. I think that's the main reason the world is how it is today. Thank you!
They practise shamanhood, and everyone is very different. Shamanism is only a theoretical term, which is not present in indigenous people. And so is shaman only one word of many. They have not lost the connection and they try to connect the normal people again with it.

I don't mean shamanhood like you or any one culture is the same. Shamanism is just a word I use to describe the native belief from around the world in animism, that Nature is an active force that can be communicated with and tapped into. Shamans are the ones in the community that interact with this power, and they were and are all around the world. Those people you met have not lost the connection and I'm glad there's people like you out there spreading this message
It is a belief system only from outsiders view points, from inside the culture it is a knowledge and it is used because it works, that is the real fact behind the unbreakable force of shamanhood. Sorry for breaking the words down to their meaning and I am not an english speaker, so it may be a little bit confusing. I see you know a bit about it, and I am happy to get your questions to any following subject.
