Conference of Turkic Languages / Konferenz der Turksprachen

From 9 am to 6 pm the conference lasted, on which I could present my results of the cultural comparison of Celtic and Siberian amulet use. I will not write much about it, it was a day on which I have heard Yakutian language 90% of the time, and that without interpreter. We, 10 participants in a room, had a lot of fun in our group. In the whole university, the groups are distributed and mixed and each participant has given his lecture. This of course had the consequence that the topics that would have interested me, are held in other rooms.

Von 9 -18 Uhr dauerte die Konferenz, auf der ich meine Ergebnisse des Kulturvergleiches von keltischem und sibirischem Amulettgebrauches darlegen konnte. Ich werde nicht viel darüber schreiben, war es doch ein Tag auf dem ich zu 90% nur jakutisch gehört habe, und das ohne Dolmetscher. Wir, das waren 10 Teilnehmer in einem Raum, hatten dennoch viel Spaß in unser Gruppe. In der ganzen Universität werden die Gruppen bunt gemischt verteilt und jeder Teilnehmer hat seinen Vortrag gehalten. Das hatte natürlich zur Folge, dass die Themen die mich interessiert hätten in anderen Räumen stattfanden.

After this warm-up, we went to a large hall where all the participants came together and the most important lectures took place again. I was also selected and was allowed to give my lecture now in German, Professor Stephan translated it into Russian, the fun he did not let himself take away, to show everyone how good he can speak German, and I must say he can really do it very well , For a hobby more than good!

Nach dieser Aufwärmrunde ging es dann in einen großen Saal wo dann alle Teilnehmer zusammen gekommen sind und die wichtigsten Vorträge nochmal stattfanden. Ich wurde auch ausgewählt und durfte meinen Vortrag nun auf deutsch halten, Professor Stephan hat ihn auf russisch übersetzt, den Spaß hat er sich nicht nehmen lassen, um allen zu zeigen wie gut er deutsch kann, und ich muss sagen er kann es wirklich sehr gut. Für ein Hobby mehr als gut!

In the evening there was a banquet with invited guests, the honorary members of the university and the foreigners. There was so much to eat, always new courses once you were done with one. Typically Russian, everyone kept a table talk and, of course, I, too. After thanking for the invitation, I presented the Gayatri mantra with which I gave all those present the best wishes and energies for their future tasks. This has been deeply impressed and I am happy to leave this round after some time and go home.

Am Abend war dann noch ein Bankett mit geladenen Gästen, den Ehrenmitgliedern der Universität und den Ausländern. Es gab so viel zu essen, immer wieder neue Gänge, sobald man mit einem fertig war. Typisch russisch hat jeder eine Tischrede gehalten und natürlich auch ich: Nach meinem Dank für die Einladung habe ich das Gayatri-Mantra vorgesungen mit dem ich allen Anwesenden die besten Wünsche und Energien für ihre kommenden Aufgaben übertragen habe. Das hat tief beeindruckt und glücklich verlasse ich nach einiger Zeit artig diese Runde und begebe mich nach Hause.

Books for the specialized disciplines in the different languages ​​are starting be puplished slowly, the translations and the small editions present great problems for the state, but they must be solved in order to preserve the peoples of the small number of the north before the dissolution. Partially, there are only 100 souls who speak one language. For a country with 3.5 million inhabitants a huge task!

Über 100 Völker in einem Land ist aber auch eine Herausforderung die nicht nur meine Kapazität übersteigt. Russifiziertes und jakutisiertes Jakutisch als Thema eines Philosophen greife ich aus der Vielfalt der Themen heraus um die Tragweite der Probleme zu verstehen. Bücher für die Fachrichtungen in den verschiedenen Sprachen kommen so langsam in Gang, die Übersetzungen und die geringen Auflagen stellen den Staat vor große Problem, die aber unbedingt gelöst werden müssen um die Völker der geringen Zahl des Nordens vor der Auflösung zu bewahren. Teilweise sind es ja nur noch 100 Seelen die eine Sprache sprechen. Für ein Land mit 3,5 Millionen Einwohnern eine gewaltige Aufgabe!

Sunday, Easter. Today is not a single appointment and I leave all alone to their merited holiday. After I have fetched some money I take a taxi and want to go to the house Aii. The driver, a young Kyrgyz, tried everything but unsuccessfully, we do not find the house. From Svetlana I had an address, but it does not exist. So I drop out at Leninplatz and go on a shopping tour. I still need a lot of small souvenirs and for me the best mouth harps I can find. This works all well, I am already the third time in Yakutsk and know everything very well. In the Internetcafe I write my second report on my blog and answer all questions on the first article. Then home and after the usual diary entries to bed, tomorrow is the day at 6.30 already in full swing: Interview in the morning magazine of national television!

Sonntag, Ostern. Heute ist kein einziger Termin und ich lasse allen ihren verdienten Feiertag. Nachdem ich mich mit Geld eingedeckt habe nehme ich mir ein Taxi und will zum Haus Aii. Der Fahrer, ein junger Kirgise, versucht alles aber erfolglos, wir finden das Haus nicht. Von Swetlana hatte ich eine Adresse, diese existiert aber nicht. So lasse ich mich am Leninplatz absetzen und gehe auf Shopping-Tour. Ich benötige noch jede Menge kleiner Mitbringsel und für mich die besten Maultrommeln die ich finden kann. Das klappt alles gut, ich bin ja schon das dritte Mal in Jakutsk und kenne mich gut aus. Im Internetcafe verfasse ich noch meinen zweiten Bericht auf meinem Blog und beantworte alle Fragen auf den ersten Artikel. Dann Heim und nach den üblichen Tagebucheinträgen ins Bett, morgen ist der Tag um 6.30 schon in vollem Gange: Interview im Morgenmagazin des nationalen Fernsehens!
