Tag 2 - Day 2

Auf dem Rückweg von Ethno Dorf kommen wir an einer Holzhaussiedlung vorbei, sehr gut zu sehen sind die Stelzen.

On the way back from ethno village we pass wooden houses, very good to see are the stilts.

Alle Versorgungsleitungen sind oberirdisch verlegt, wir werden das noch öfter sehen.

All the supply lines are laid above ground, we will see this more often.

Heute hatten wir -25 Grad, also richtiger Frühling in Jakutien. Erst ab -40 Grad spricht man hier von Winter. Da ist es gut zu wissen dass in allen beheizten Häusern ungefähr +27 Grad herrschen. Macht dann so um die 50 Grad Unterschied bei jedem Wechsel von drausen nach drinnen. Nach 2 Tagen hatte ich mich daran gewöhnt und es gibt ja überall kostenlose Garderoben an denen man seine Jacke oder Mantel abgeben kann. Auf keinen Fall schwitzen bevor man wieder ins Freie geht.

Today we had -25 degrees, real spring in Yakutia. Only from -40 degrees one talks of winter. Since it is good to know that in all heated houses are about +27 degrees. Makes the 50 degrees difference with each change from outside to inside. After 2 days I had got used to it and there are everywhere free wardrobes where you can give your jacket or coat. Never sweat before you go outside again.

Die Spatzen sehen genauso aus wie in Bayern, wie die hier -60 Grad überstehen ist mir ein Rätsel, aber sie schauen gut aus.

The sparrows look the same as in Bavaria, how they withstand -60 degrees is a mystery to me, but they look good.

Und wieder Rohre: Meine Arbeit zu Hause hat mir den Dingern zu tun und so bitte ich zu entschuldigen dass ich sie ein paar mal erwähne und aufnehme.

Ein Heizwerk erzeugt die ganze Wärme und von da aus wird die ganze Stadt versorgt.

A heating plant generates all the heat and from there the whole city is supplied.

Dieses Bild zeigt etwas besonderes: Im Vordergrund ist flüssiges Wasser zu sehen, das liegt an der Sonne, die hier ja den ganzen Tag scheint und die Oberflächen aufheizt, gegen Abend wird das dann spiegelglatt. Beim Stadtbummel ist das besonders bemerkbar, in der Sonne ist es richtig warm und kaum ist etwas Schatten ist es wieder richtig kalt.

This picture shows something special: in the foreground, liquid water is visible, which is in the sun, which here all day seems to heat up the surfaces, in the evening it becomes then mirror-smooth. During the city stroll it is particularly noticeable, in the sun it is really warm and with shade is it really cold.

Ein typisches altes Holzhaus ohne Stelzen. Die Fenster sind schon unterhalb der Geländehöhe und der erste Stock (Erdgeschoß) nicht mehr bewohnbar. Die Balkone sind teilweise mit Hilfsbrettern wieder waagerecht gemacht, da das Haus einseitig im Morast versinkt.

Am Abend gehen wir in ein Theater um ein Konzert zu Ehren des Tages der Kosmonauten zu besuchen. Bei uns ist Ostern. Hier lerne ich die spontane Liebe der Jakuten zu ihrer Kultur auf besonders angenehme Weise kennen. Als ich die Wandtafel fotographieren will stürmt die junge Dame hinzu und wird Teil des Bildes.

In the evening we go to a theater to attend a concert in honor of the day of Cosmonauts. With us is Easter. Here I am able to learn the spontaneous love of the Yakutians to their culture in a particularly pleasant way. As I want to take a picture of the wall-paper, the young lady storms in and becomes part of the picture.

Die Vorstellung ist nicht so ganz nach meinem Geschmack und so gehen wir zur Pause. Daheim gibt es Konin, junges 2-3 jähriges Pferd, das nur zum Essen gezüchtet wird und nicht zum Arbeiten. Damit bin ich dann entgültig wieder in Jakutsk angekommen. Ganz nebenbei ergiebt sich das Programm für morgen: Soviel schon mal vorweg, es wird ein wichtiger Tag für mich.

The performance is not quite to my taste and so we go to the break. At home, there is Konin, young 2-3 year old horse bred only for eating and not working. So I finally arrived in Yakutsk. By the way, the program for tomorrow is organized: It will be an important day for me.

Um 11 Uhr treffe ich einen Bekannten im Kino und wir trinken eine Tee, dann muß ich aber los zu Stephan in die Universität. Er ist Professor für Sprachen und hat mich eingeladen an einer Konferenz teilzunehmen in der es um die Turksprachen und deren Bewahrung geht. Nachdem er mich dem Vorstand der Universität vorgestellt hat und ich kurz meine Ziele der Zusammenarbeit dargelegt habe beginnt die Vorbereitung der Konferenz. Wir sind eine kleine Gruppe und jeder stellt sein Projekt vor: Anton hat Statistiken des Sprachgebrauchs nach Alter und Regionen vorbereitet, sein Resultat: Die Jungen wenden sich wieder vermehrt der jakutischen Sprache zu. Peter, ein Schweizer, muß an seinem Projekt noch arbeiten. Endlich bin dann ich an der Reihe: mein Projekt wird die Beschreibung der heilenden Spielweise auf der Maultrommel sein und mein Buch wird als Geschenk an das jakutische Volk übergeben.

At 11 o'clock I meet an acquaintance in the cinema and we drink a tea, but then I have to go to Stephan in the university. He is a professor of languages and has invited me to attend a conference on the Turk languages and its preservation. After he presented me to the board of the university and I briefly set out my goals of the cooperation the preparation of the conference begins. We are a small group, and each one presents his project: Anton has prepared statistics on the use of language according to age and region, his result: the youth increasingly turn to the Yakut language. Peter, a Swiss, still has to work on his project. Finally, it is my turn: my project will be the description of the healing play on the mouth-harp and my book will be given as a gift to the Yakutian people.

An der Bushaltestelle mache ich diese drei Bilder, dann geht es zurück in das Zentrum, schließlich brauche ich zwei Tickets um nach Krasnoyarsk zu kommen. Die Bankkarte geht nicht und so kaufe ich erst mal nur das Ticket für den Baikal-Express von Irkutsk nach Krasnoyarsk für 1300 Rubel. Das Flugticket kaufe ich halt wenn die Karte wieder geht.

At the bus stop I make these three pictures, then it goes back to the center. After all, I need two tickets to come to Krasnoyarsk. The bank card does not work, so I buy only the ticket for the Baikal Express from Irkutsk to Krasnoyarsk for 1300 rubles. The flight ticket I buy when the card works again.
