From Krasnoyarsk to Tuva - Siberia Travel Adventure (Part 22)
With this article I invite you to the south of Siberia. Very early in the morning I arrive with the Baikal Express in Krasnoyarsk, and nobody picked me up. Later, it turns out that my pickup has been waiting a week before. So I'm on the way to the tea yurt to see what is going on.
Mit diesem Artikel lade ich dich ein den Süden Sibiriens kennenzulernen. Sehr früh am Morgen komme ich mit dem Baikal-Express in Krasnojarsk an, und werde nicht abgeholt. Später stellt sich heraus, dass mein Abholer eine Woche vorher gewartet hat. Also mache ich mich auf den Weg zur Tee-Jurte um dort zu sehen wie es weitergeht.
There is nobody at the yurt, but after many attempts I finally get the opportunity to talk to my pickup on the phone inside the museum. He then is there very soon and the day takes its course. Towards evening, I will leave the city again, so I am only for a few hours their guest. Here is one of the many great bridges over the Yenisei, a huge building.
An der Jurte ist niemand, aber nach vielen Versuchen bekomme ich im Museum endlich die Möglichkeit mit meinem Abholer zu telefonieren. Der ist dann auch sehr bald da und der Tag nimmt seinen Lauf. Gegen Abend werde ich die Stadt wieder verlassen, ich bin also nur für ein paar Stunden Gast. Hier ist eine der vielen großen Brücken über den Jenissei, ein gewaltiges Bauwerk.

The car ride across the bridge, there are no markings, everyone goes where he wants.
Die Autofahrt über die Brücke, Markierungen gibt es keine, jeder fährt wo er will.
After eating and talking I will be taken back to the train station to take the next night train to Abakan in Chakassia. This time it is about 700 km to the south. And in the Plazkartny category, which corresponds to an open sleeping-car, thus lower class. The first impressions shortly after Krasnoyarsk.
Nach Essen und Gesprächen werde ich wieder zurück zum Bahnhof gebracht um mit dem nächsten Nachtzug nach Abakan in Chakassien zu fahren. Diesmal geht es Richtung Süden etwa 700 km. Und in der Plazkartny Kategorie, was einem offenen Liegewagen-Großraumabteil entspricht, also untere Klasse. Die ersten Eindrücke kurz nach Krasnojarsk.

The train schedule, the second line says 16:55 Departure in Krasnoyarsk, the bottom line arrival in Abakan at 7.44, each plus 4 hours, since all times are in Moscow time. The numbers in the white fields are the standing time in the stations. So we will stay in 4 1/2 hours for 54 minutes, from half past one to half past two in the morning. Somehow strange.
Der Zugfahrplan, die zweite Zeile sagt 16.55 Abfahrt in Krasnojarsk, ganz unten Ankunft in Abakan um 7.44, jeweils plus 4 Stunden, da ja alle Zeiten im Zug Moskauer Zeit sind. Die Zahlen in den weißen Feldern sind die Aufenthaltszeiten in den Stationen. Also werden wir in 4 1/2 Stunden 54 Minuten Aufenthalt haben, von halb eins bis halb zwei in der Früh. Irgendwie seltsam.
Inside the train is in no comparison with the beautiful Baikal Express, but I have a whole quadruple compartment for me alone, at least for the next hours, until at night one man comes in.
Innen ist der Zug kein Vergleich mit dem schönen Baikal-Express, aber ich habe ein ganzes 4'er Abteil für mich alleine, zumindest die nächsten Stunden, bis dann irgendwann Nachts ein Mann dazu kommt.

Wenig Touristen. Wirkt sehr entspannend.
Wenig ? So gut wie keine, ich habe jedenfalls in den ersten zwei Wochen noch keine getroffen, in Tuva ändert sich das dann, dort gibt es ein paar. Wenn man sich an die Regeln dort hält ist es wirklich sehr locker und problemlos. Regel Nummer eins ist: Kein Alkohol, niemals!
