Travel | 24. Pasta and cream sausages
Ulan-Ude, Russia
Yesterday I was feeling pretty sick so decided to stay indoors and have tea.
I did manage to tag along with this nice local girl, Ayuna, who helped me to buy a bus ticket to Mongolia for this Saturday.
The price was 1000R which is a bargain compared to the train (3100R) and it takes half the time. So, on Saturday morning we are taking the bus with Ayuna, one of her friends and this Belgian couple I met here at the guesthouse (Elise & Jasper).
Yesterday the girls were cooking (boiling really) Russian cream sausage and eating it with spaghetti and cheese. I got served too and it was good!
Then Olga told me she has never tasted Italian cuisine! I don’t know how that is possible… So I promised I will cook them some pasta carbonara Italian style (thanks again Luca!) before I go. Will cook tomorrow night.
This is Olga and the sausages.
Ayuna is a PR graduate and currently organising events and parties.
After having lunch and getting the tickets, I went to the supermarket to get some parmesan cheese, bacon, eggs and spaghetti. Also grabbed some Chianti and some more vodka.
Fishtank in the gourmet supermarket Sputnik.
Some snaps from the trip to the supermarket. (every day I find something interesting to shoot, even I walk these same corners every day)
Rest of the night we spent drinking tea and talking with Ayuna. Her English is getting better and as a gentleman, I am always happy to help. When Elise and Jasper came back from their nightly adventures, we broke open a vodka bottle. Then another. Until it was time to go to sleep.
Oh, btw, when I bought the vodka and showed it to Olga, she asked if I ever tasted vodka before… Who, me? Noooooo…. ^^
