Travel Photography | 39. The Great Wall of... Comfort Zone
At that point of the trip, I felt at ease, like I was not in a rush to go anywhere. Now that I think back it must have been love at first sight...
Here Is a collection of few pictures from my time in Beijing (27.10.11 – 2.11.11).
Did a color-job for this one.
The longer I’m on the road. The less I feel like I want to write about it. So please don’t worry If there will only be weekly or monthly updates from now on. Days just pass me by and I have become pretty indifferent to weekdays or seasons. I make my plans with a yearly calendar now 🙂
Live scorpions! Iiizsh!
Forever under construction.
Billiards with Annie Liu.
Finally settled for this guesthouse as I struck a mad deal with them! Jasper had been here 4 years ago and apparently, it was popular back then.
Now it is nearly empty and the prices the lowest we could find 40y for a dorm. BUT! I complained that the wifi is not working in the room, so they hooked me up with a private room for the same price! Needless to say, I instantly booked 5 more nights and just tonight another 5 (I’ll see if I will get the Vietnamese visa already from here).
This officer was having a little bai jiu in the middle of the day, which is totally cool by me.
I have sung karaoke, took long walks in the parks and around the city (far from tourists), stayed up late, slept even later, took random bus rides, ate in random places and generally enjoyed the sweetness of doing nothing. Had some hot-pot with friends, some jiu at rooftop terrace, good conversation, mad jokes and doing it all in a great place!
My dear friend Antti once said that you should only plan one thing, max, for one day. And even that you don’t need to take seriously. I find this to be good advice. Antti if you are reading this, I dedicate this post to you!
Ok, I give you the wall but I’m NOT going to the forbidden city!
Ahh, the cheesiness overwhelms me!
Elise had organised a nice day trip to the non-touristic (not yet at least) part of the wall, so I was happy to go with them. Thanks, guys!
Guess who?
Go ahead and JUMP!
I will continue on without plans. Seems to work out pretty well for me. Finally, I don’t feel the need to be in control of everything. Just let things happen on their own.
Interested to see what tomorrow brings!
Thanks for reading!
