The Classics Never Die - The Searchers

in #music6 years ago

Why do I love the classics so much?
I think deep down I really belonged to those era's, I know my heart longs to live and experience what life was like back then.
It would have been great to experience the 60's.
Things have changes dramatically since those years, people were more friendly and they didn't have the drug problems that we have now days.

I think just by listening to the music you can tell the attitudes of people were totally different, compared to what people are like in today's day and age.
Gee wizz, maybe I am an old bastard like my brother says lol.

Another thing which would have been great to experience is the cool cars and hot rods of the 60's.
I'm a huge car lover, and while my hoon days are over I still love horse power and the grunt of the V8's. It must have been really cool to see those cars and experience some of those drag races.

The classics never die, but they can be forgotten and sometimes your introduced to something you absolutely love.
I have had some interesting feed back in this series.
Here is some feedback I received from @mightpossibly

That's some nice songs!
I've never listened to a single David Bowie song before - these were some solid recommendations.

I have also received lots of great feed back, and interesting trivia from @mgood who is very knowledgeable on the classics I love.

The group, Dr Hook and the Medicine Show, wasn't very well known but they came out with a few hits.
I'm surprised they play their songs "down under".

Here is some feed back from @cheese4ead about my Pink Floyd post.

You know you won my vote at P!! 😂
Meddle was my choice for my most influential album in my challenge but Wish You Were Here is my favourite closely followed by Dark side of the moon.
The Wall freaks me out and Roger Waters lyrics are a little depressing. I still think its special though and I remember being transfixed on the artwork too. Comfortably Numb is technically an 80's track too!! Run Like Hell is a cool live track.
Awesome. Thanks @thevillan

So lets continue on with my series, I want to share another couple of my favorite tracks.

☠️ The Searchers ☠️

The Searchers are an English band, who produced a string of hits during the 1960's.
The English really produced some great artists in my opinion, and The Searchers are certainly one of them.
They have a really uplifting sound to them.

The Searchers were right there amongst some of the biggest names coming out of the UK like The Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers.

From Wikipedia:

Founded as a skiffle group in Liverpool in 1959 by John McNally and Mike Pender, the band took their name from the classic 1956 John Ford western The Searchers.

☠️ When You Walk in the Room ☠️

It's really tough to pick a favorite from The Searchers, but I think this track would have to be my favorite.
The track has such a feel good vibe to it.
I really love the lyrics to this track, when ever it comes on during the Saturday night jukebox I can't help but sing to this one.

I really love that guitar riff, it's so catchy. These lyrics though:

I can feel a new expression on my face
I can feel a glowing sensation taking place

☠️ Needles and Pins ☠️

Here is another fantastic song by The Searchers.
Really tough to pick a favorite between this and When You Walk in the Room.

I find this song to be really catchy too, when you hear it you just want to put it on replay and listen just a few more times.
The guitar riff is rather simple yet catchy.
The vibe of the song is really uplifting too.

☠️ Don't Throw Your Love Away ☠️

I really love this track.
the song has an excellent harmony to it. This track really makes me think about a when I first started dating I broke up with a girl who was way too clingy.
now that I think back maybe that was a good thing.

I really love the way the chorus has been sung.

I have added these tracks into Villans Saturday Night jukebox Mix for you all :)
